Eagles this year vs Falcons last year

I don’t necessarily agree with this take, particularly after last week’s game which saw some fairly basic reads from Bortles. Yes, he certainly played a good game, but at the same time, the coaching staff put him in a good position to succeed by not asking him to do too much. We could see something similar. I think it will obviously depend on how they defend those run/pass option plays, which are fairly simple, yet can be quite effective.

Also, the opposing defense certainly has a voice in the game, too. We recently saw Jay Cutler beat this team, and they’ve struggled before with some mediocre QBs. There could be a couple of big runs and some dinking/dunking, and it could be a game where Foles just has to play well enough not to lose.

I agree with RW, I think Foles has to have a really big game, I don’t think he can put up enough points just taking what they give. I honestly think he’s going to end up with 3 picks,

Iggles have the edge on defense. Their stunts and twists up front have given Dante's OLs a bit of trouble in the past and their backers are fast and athletic and can cover our backs out of the backfield. Jenkins is having a good year, but I honestly believe he's being overrated in this run. Their secondary is a bit suspect, but the Giants showed in the past that you can beat Brady with a suspect secondary if you can consistently knock him on his ass from the opening whistle.

Offensively, Atlanta has the edge talent-wise. That said, Philly doesn't really have a strength that stands out, but they have a bunch of capable guys at every level of the offense. Ajayi and Blount are a sound 1-2 combo, Algohar has speed to get outside and stretch this defense East to West on Jet sweeps, and Smith and Jeffry have shown that they're capable of making big plays. That said, I don't expect big games from either of the last two mentioned. The Pats strength is in their CBs on defense. Ajayi/Blount/Foles on the RPO can give the Pats some problems and that's what they must focus on containing.

Their secondary is a bit suspect,

I'd say it's more than suspect. Robinson's a JAG, Ronald Darby is Artie Burns-level trash, and Jalen Mills is somewhere in between those two.

The question is, will Brady have time to exploit it?

They are birds of a different feather

I haven't read the entire thread so I may be echoing similar thoughts as others.

Falcons' WRs are far more superior in talent than Eagles' WRs this year. Eagles have an edge at TE. On the defensive side, I don't think Eagles are as fast as Falcons and as many posters here have stated their LBs are a favorable matchup for our RBs and Gronk.

I like our chances against this Eagles team (knock on wood). I just hope we don't end up blowing coverage and give up big plays. It's hard to get back in the game when we give up plays like that. Also, we need to control the time of possession.

Eagles' performance against Vikings last week is a fluke. They played well but it also seemed like Vikings gave up in the first quarter.

Totally different teams..

I was looking forward to a falcon rematch
