Dwight Clark has ALS

Side story but I believe Dwight clark was a big reason brady didn't get drafted by the 49ers. In fact the brady family was expecting TB to go to SF but clark went with giovanni carmazzi instead.

I wish the best for him.
Besides the 49ers, 31 other NFL teams also passed on Tom until the 6th round, making us lucky that he was still on the board. Dwight wasn't the only one that missed. Anyway, that's long gone now and it would be so good if somehow there were a breakthrough on a cure for ALS in time to help Clark and all the others with this terrible disease. I know the odds aren't good.

I'm thinking you are right, otherwise we'd hear more cases of it than we have.

We have Kevin Turner and now Dwight Clark.

How about Steve Gleason? Was his issue ALS?
Yes, Steve Gleason has ALS. He was diagnosed in 2011 and still continues the fight at age 39.

You're starting to hear more of it. Tim Shaw, O. J. Brigance and Viking of old Fred McNeill have ALS. That's 5 for starters ( Kevin Turner was CTE, not ALS)

Kevin Turner had both CTE and ALS.
