Drafted Player's Numbers

Probably the wrong thread-place, but since I was wondering about Doubs # in a different thread ( he did end up w 87 ) and since this thread reminded me of my question ....
.... Here is the list of the other new guys ( signings ) and the numbers they are currently given:

35 LB K.J. Britt
33 S Mike Brown
31 S Kevin Byard III
87 WR Romeo Doubs
44 FB Reggie Gilliam ..... [ I think this one is pretty "tight" for a FB. ]
80 TE Julian Hill ..... [ Troy Brown # on a TE, will look a lot bigger. ]
51 T James Hudson III
5 LB Dre'Mont Jones ( ? 05 ? )
62 LS Niko Lalos
42 LB Jesse Luketa
75 G Alijah Vera-Tucker
28 CB Kindle Vildor

Don't get me started on the the jersey numbers today. I hate defensive ends and linebackers wearing offensive skill position numbers.

Hey Spillane - you're no Steve Grogan. You look stupid.

It seems everything that works fine has to get f'd with. Just like the ruining the perfect symmetry of the 16 game schedule.

I love that we don’t have that Belichick rookie nonsense anymore. Lomu could’ve been number 50.

The UDFA's got their new jersey numbers as well.

@jmt57 - When did Cole Strange wear 68? He wore 69..

As for the best $68, I'd say that Tom Ashworth was better than Max Lane. Since Ashworth started in a SB and what not.. But that's just me..

Thanks, good catch. I must have gotten a little crosse-eyed looking at a spreadsheet.

If I had thought about it, it would have been obvious.

Lane vs Ashworth is definitely debatable for Ashworth's Super Bowl win (and Lane's SB loss, when he was left alone vs Reggie White). But Lane was in New England for 7 years, four as a starter, vs Ashworth's four years, two as a starter. That one could go either way.

Max Lane, infamously, also started in a Super Bowl.

I rated Lane ahead of Ashworth as well... And length of service was the determining factor...

It's three years old now, locked, and needs to be updated, but fwiw
