Personally, I think it far from clear that the 2007 group of Gabriel, Jackson and Caldwell will be as good as the 2005 group of Branch, Givens and Brown. I would mention that the 2005 patriot passing game was #1 in the league. I will note that I do not disagree with any of bb's wider receiver moves, and I certainly expect a couple of more before we solidify the 2007 squad. Gabriel was a steal if we gave up a 3rd.
and that is why we all have our own indivdual opinons.... I do not think anything is really "clear" in football though, which is why we can have these kind of discussions.
But I believe gabriel has an edge over givens already and will continue to have next year (he is on the field and contributing).
Living up to potential is something we will have to see from Jackson, but if he does do so he should be more productive than Branch.
That is why I have them as 1a and 1b much like Branch and Givens were last year
And Troy Brown, who I love as much as anyone else does had 39 grabs for 466 yards which I think Caldwell should very well accomplish next year, if not this year as well.
The 2005 #1 passing offense we all know was very slanted because we werent able to run the ball and not something that BB or Tom Brady would want to have to do again.
