I was thinking...
Taking a CB when it appeared to be much less of a need than some other positions was unexpected. I can only hope they really know something about this kid like they did Logan Mankins. I'm not ready to panic or anything, but admit this isn't the way I saw it going.
I wonder if they are loading up on defensive backs because they plan on blitzing more, and they need DBs to cover. That is how the Jets created pressure last year, so maybe they are following that blueprint. If so, tomorrow will be key because they need players who can create pressure with the blitz (especially at LB, although Chung and Meriweather fit that mold as blitzing S).
It will be interesting to see how things go tomorrow. They have 4 picks, twice as many as MIA and BUF, while the Jets only have 1. They need to add players to the defensive front-7. They need to help the offense (TE, WR or RB), because they will need to get a lead to be playing all these defensive backs. Tomorrow is a big day.
