Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Who has the money to pay for a sign in front of Gillette?

I've thought about taking a sign with me to the Chargers game. My seats are directly across the field from Kraft's suite so chances are he'd see it.

Please do, the mayo is stale throw it out, or willing and Vrabel something to get the message across.

Combined with having a young and rapidly developing franchise QB, I think this would generate real excitement with Pats fans, partly because of Vrabel and partly from getting rid of Mayo.

Vrabel has better NFL connections and could bring in a better staff, particularly a GM.

Would Josh be likely to come too?

Keep AVP as Maye’s QB coach and 2025 would be something to look forward too.

It is more important to fire Covington. The Defense was much better last year. The secondary was better last year being led down the stretch with Wade and Bryant carrying much of the load.

To be clear, I think that Wolf should have added a major EDGE playing, given that he knew that Judon was not art of the future. That being said, there is plenty of ammunition to allow us to add several top upgrades on Defense plus draft a couple.
We need to keep Covington for now.

He will be the interim HC when they fire Mayo.

I've been a fan since the early 60's. The team has gone through stretches where it wasn't very good, as you would expect over so long a time, but I have never seen the team as incompetently managed as this.
You’re whitewashing history. This is a franchise which for years was the joke of the NFL.

Get back to us when Robert Kraft goes bankrupt because he spent all his money on the latest pop superstar's worldwide tour.

Could AVP work with Josh? Is that something Josh would even consider in this hypothetical.

What Would be great if the wheels were already in motion and they had conference calls with Mike and Josh asking these questions,

If the team comes out flat against the Bills, Chargers, Bills we know.
However I don’t think Kraft would fire Mayo prior to the season ending out of respect.
Also is there anyway Vrabel could keep Mayo on the staff to make Kraft happy?

If they’re not on the same page that’s both of them failing. As HC Mayo is AVP’s boss. Part of any job is knowing what your boss wants. That’s on AVP.

as HC Mayo is AVP’s boss. As boss part of your job is making sure your subordinates know what’s expected of them. That’s on Mayo.

Both get unsat ratings. One part of being boss is you get to fire subordinates who don’t meet your expectations. AVP isn’t being scapegoated; he’s an underperforming underling and firing him is appropriate.
They’re all underperforming, but if AVP is getting a D+, then Mayo is getting an F. I also wouldn't be surprised if it is an unconventional chain of command in regard to who Van Pelt reports to. Based on what seemed to be differing opinions about the timeline of Maye starting and some of the comments from Mayo to the media, I wouldn't be surprised if AVP reports to Jonathan Kraft and Robin Glaser instead of directly to Mayo. Regardless of what the setup is the Krafts bungled this coaching staff completely. If Van Pelt is reporting to Mayo who knows what either side gets out of it.

Make Mayo assistant DC under whoever Vrabel hires.

He can start building a coaching resume the same way others do before he gets another HC gig,

If he EVER gets one.

He could and maybe that would appease him and Kraft.
But I think there would be sour grapes there as well.

In this scenario.......
What happens to the Mayo Diversity Mural?

I've never disagreed with you more. But that's fine.

McAdoo would be the interim coach. They could fire Mayo tomorrow and no one would notice.

IMO, Covington is doing the worst job of any of the coaches not named Mayo.

His play calling is terrible. His game plans are terrible. Last year, Wade and Bryant made the secondary look good. The personnel this year is about the same as last year. The results are spectacularly worse.

Let's watch the secondary over the next three weeks to see if there is improvement.

Gonzo, Jones, Jones, Austin
Peppers, Dugger, Pettus, Hawkins, (Mapu)

This is much, much better than we had last year at this time. Yes, we still need a top corner opposite Gonzo and a top free safety, but this secondary should be the strength of the Defense.

I thought the smilie I attached would be a giveaway.

I wasn’t serious about Covington.

He needs to be stapled to Mayo when Mayo gets shown the door.

I don’t think Mayo gets fired til the last game.
Team likely to go 0-7 down the stretch with the defense regressing weekly.

On top of that, Maye likely to be saddled with a 1-10 rookie year record (I did not include the Jets win Maye gets credited for despite scoring 0 points).

Truthfully, I hope Maye discovers Mayo's backstairs route up to Thunder's office and pounds the table insisting Thunder blow up the Pats entire football hierarchy.

The kid and his agent need to make some demands (my wishful thinking)

sorry, missed it

We agree. I would note that for me, Covington is first and worst. We had a good Defense with prospects to get better when we signed a couple of studs. Now, it looks terrible. The major difference from last year was the elevation of Covington and loss of the Belichick's.
