Does anyone know why compensatory picks can't be traded?

My guess would be that the whole purpose is to make up for lost FAs and if they are traded away they don't serve that purpose, but that doesn't seem quite right.

Anyone have the answer to this question?

Just some rule. Whether they're used or traded the awarded team still gets some value for them.

I think that may be the reason...I mmean if the picks are making up for lost players..what is the point?? But I do believe that has something to do with that...

Comp pick cannot be traded because it is against the rules
