Of course he is a patriot now and I will support him I dont care if he is #1 overall or a camp fodder. I bought a Woodhead jersey...and he once wore a Jets jersey!!!

In the first place, I doubt we could have got him in the fifth, or with our other second round pick. Did Belichick just get droolingly stupidall of a sudden? the guy who traded down twice and still got McCourty, then Gronk and Spikes and Hernandez? Don't even go there about picks you don't like, BB obviously knows the players and what other teams want the same ones (nailed his 2 in round 1, BTW).

Just assume he still knows what he's doing, someone else wanted Wilson, case closed.

So why did our secondary suck last year? One reason, unfortunate injury to Bodden, but the big reason was an "all pro" safety that freelanced and was an idiot and character problem.

So he goes for a "good character", steady, versatile safety, with good size and speed. If this guy improves and buys in, isn't he getting what he really wants for the current team? Short term, he's a gunner and slot corner, corner or safety. Again, I'm assuming he is a smart player who will "do hid job". Don't we look for a guy like that to lead at each position?

Of course, assuming he doesn't suck, the proof is in the playing.
