It was a great team win. The D was awesome (esp. Colvin & Thomas). The O-line & RB's are going to be special. And what more can be said about our awesome receivers (any Moss or Welker doubters still there?). How can D-coordinators plan against the Pats' attack?

But this post is about #12. Do we really appreciate how special he is? How intelligent? How tough? What a great leader he is? He's played in 108 straight games, and has been banged hard a lot, like those helmet blows last night. But he keeps getting up and leading the team to victory.

I'm 60 and have been blessed to have seen the immortal QB's: Graham, Tittle, Starr, Montana, Marino, Elway, Farve and yes, Manning. Most had more physical gifts than TB, But is there anyone you would rather have when the game is on the line? Remember, Tom didn't have any all-pro receivers until this year.

Like Rodney & Troy & Tedy, Tom just refuses to lose. Sometimes the clock will run out on him, but he and the team can hold their heads high. So can the Patriot nation, no matter what the score. His example elevates everyone on the team.

Just one more thought: Every team in the NFL passed on him at least 5 times in the draft. Has there ever been a greater steal?

Hear hear!

I for one do not take him for granted, but I think we have been so used to seeing him put up great performances that we don't speak much about his performance unless it is a bad one. I thought that the fact he completed over 80% of his passes last night and made everything look so easy that it wasn't funny.

I think people point out other areas/players because we haven't had consistent spectacular production in those areas or players. We aren't overly impressed with a 3 TD performance with Brady because we have come to expect that from him. After several years of inconsistant o-line play, the brick walls the o-line have been putting out there the last two games are that impressive. Seeing Colvin have two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an INT is not something we see out of Colvin every week.

None of us truly realize what we are witnessing. This combination of coach and QB has not been seen since Walsh/Montana and I think we will even surpass them.

Yes, we take Brady and this team for granted. Even if we know it, it is hard to appreciate just how special this is.

Michaels and Madden acknowledged as much last night when they explained their choice of Moss over Brady for the "horse trailer". Basically they said something like "Brady has been here many times and will be many times again, so we're picking Randy just so we can pick someone else besides Tom."

I think it can safely be said that he's the best single draft pick ever. Montana in the 3rd was great but Brady in the 6th has to be the best ever.

To answer the question, I am sure we do take him for granted and will only realize it when he's gone.

I think that we will see some things out of TB this year, with the addition of Moss, Welker, etc.......

What he has, receiver wise, is finally on par with Manning. It'll be interesting to watch it play out.
