There is a new #1 as ArchAngel has taken over the top spot with an impressive +81k week! Several other impressive weeks above +20k by sb1, fightingirish595, Chevy, FreeTedWIlliams, and Calhoun44.

Unfortunately, we have lost 2 more bettors this week as irishfanatic and borg bow out. Thank you both for playing! We are now down to 25 of us playing for the prestigious banner that Pat the Pats Fan proudly displays from last season.

I will have the Week 6 betting thread up some time Thursday afternoon. For those who must bet TNF, it is Commanders at Bears (-1.0) / 38.5. I post this just in case the betting thread runs into late afternoon Thursday. But seriously, if you have any desire to bet this game you need help.

Thanks for coming back! Last year went better for sure. And next season is just around the corner....at least that's what I tell myself as every winter arrives.

Just happy that I bounced back somewhat from a 30K loss....reducing it to 10K on MNF.

Can't wait to lay some DIngleberries on the Commanders/Bears game!!!! LFG!!

I "bounced back" to only losing 5k :D

But I'm about ready to turn right around and destroy this league. Or to survive another week. Whatev.

Where is the post where you explain these weird-ass parlay inverted reverse ollie bets and such, or is this common parlance that degenerates just know about and I can google? I know nothing about these weird things, but I have been seeing it more lately out in the wild now that I've seen it here.

I will post a full tutorial tonight in this thread.

A Parlay bet is just a group of bets that all have to hit for you to get paid out

A teaser bet is the same thing, except you're given points on the games.. (IE: If Packers are -10 favorites, a 6 point teaser with them would put them at -4 favorites. Or if the over/under is 50, a 6 point teaser would make it Over 44, or under 56)

So teasers are just easier Parlay bets to win

A skater, eh?

Let me skate-speak here:

1.) A (three legged) parlay is like betting on a skater to do an ollie impossible + 50/50 grind on a rail + a 360 flip off the rail. Each trick increases the payout odds.

2.) A teaser is like reducing the pay out odds in exchange for betting on the skater to do an ollie + 50/50 grind on a rail + a flip off the rail.

Three legged parlay happens to be my nickname!

The "parlay" part is because I like to bet. The "three-legged" is for another reason.

@neuronet

I will repost this in the betting thread. But here is a breakdown of all the betting possibilities in this game. I snipped a portion of the lines from last week to use as examples.

1665621383183.png

Betting Lines:

This is the regular betting you do. If you picked the Chiefs (-7.0), then they have to win by more than 7 points for you to win. Likewise, if you take the Raiders (+7.0), they only have to lose by less than 7 points or win of course. If the Chiefs win by exactly 7, the bet is a "push" and you get your bet money back. No winners. These bets pay off at (+100). For every $100 you bet, you win $100. You win what you bet.

O/U: Same as the lines, this pays off at (+100). You are betting whether the total points scored in the game will be over or under the O/U total in the lines. If you bet the Over in the Cards/Eagles game of 49, the final score must add up to over 49 for you to win. If it is exactly 49, the bet is a push like above.

Teaser Bets: With teaser bets, you are combining 2 or more bets where all of the bets in the teaser must win for you to win the bet. Only game lines and O/U can be used in teaser bets. There are 6 point teasers and 7 point teasers. This means the line or O/U moves that many points in your favor. Here is an example. Let's say you like the Chiefs and the Over in that game, and you like the Bengals and the Under in that game. You could combine all 4 of these in a teaser. Let's use a 6 point teaser:

Chiefs (-7.0) would move to Chiefs (-1.0). The Over would move from 50.5 down to 44.5.
Bengals (+3.0) would move to (+9.0). The Under would move from 48.5 up to 54.5.

Each of the 4 are easier to win now, BUT all 4 must win for you to win your bet. Here are the payoffs of teasers:

6 point, 2 bets (+100) / 6 point 3 bets (+200) / 6 point 4 bets (+300)
7 point 3 bets (+150) / 7 point, 4 bets (+200)

So if you bet 10k on your example above, you would win 30k because the payoff for a 4 bet, 6 point teaser is (+300).

Parlay Bets:

You are combining multiple Line and/or O/U bets. ALL of the bets must win for you to win the parlay. If only one of them loses, you lose it all. These are the lottery tickets of betting. High payoff, but difficult to win. Here are the payoffs based on number of bets:

3 bets (+600) / 4 bets (+1000) / 5 bets (+2000) / 6 bets (+4000)

A 10k bet on a 4 bet parlay would payoff 100k!

Prop Bets:

Unless otherwise specified, these pay off at (+100). For example, you can bet the Over or Under for the various player props. Rhamondre Stevenson / Rushing Yards 59.5. You choose over that total or under, then the amount you want to bet.

In the game props above, it says "Pats Score First and Lose (+400)". If you bet 1k on this and it happens, you win 4k because of the +400.

The Player Prop Parlay above is at (+250) for Brady and Mariotta to total more than 500 passing yards combined. If you bet 1k on this, you would win $2,500 because of the +250.

The Same Game Parlay above is also at (+250). All of the conditions of that prop must hit for you to win the bet. Some have higher payoff odds depending on the likelihood of the props occurring.

Please feel free to ask any questions in the threads. I am not the only degenerate gambler here. Teasers are tempting because the numbers move in your favor. They give you a chance to move a line beyond common score differentials like 3 and 7. But the drawback is you need every bet to win. Give it a shot. And if you make a mistake, it's no big deal. We will correct it and help you get what you are trying to bet.

On a side note...a real casino would never give you (+100) on these bets. The casino always gets it cut. I won't get into the (-110) and (-120) you would see. Only round numbers here! So it simplifies things pretty well.

@Dingleberry thanks so much --- that is super helpful, and very clear!!

I think I'm about ready to dive in with these weird chain reactions of bets. :excited:

You got it. Also, take a look at some of the teaser bets that others make. That will help you see what they are doing and how the bets work.

Just don't go all in on these! Stay in the game.

I think I'm done with teasers. In those one loss loses everything. With separate bets on the same games you can still win if you only get one wrong.

teasers have been screwing me hard for 2 years, but im addicted

Last year I had a parlay wrapped up for $350 (real money), only thing that couldnt happen in OT was for Brady to throw a pick 6 and thats what he did lol

was the last game in my parlay to win

Aaron Rodgers losing last week screwed me on my teaser

I haven't gambled in years, but I made a killing for a short time in the 80's betting parlays with Boston, Philly and LA in basketball.

My favorite bet of all time was helped by Tom Landry and Drew Pearson in the mid 70's. After a long pass completion by Pearson in OT to near the goal line, Landry decided to take the winning FG on the early down. But instead he faked it and won it by 6 instead to cover my 5 point bet.
