I figured 1 CB and 1 LB in the 1st 4 rounds and a DT and a ST and a K towards the end...no, I was not surprised. Had Belichick not traded 3a I think he would have taken a LB or CB there because there was some major value left on the board.

For all we know...he had no plans for this either...he just took advantage of what he saw. Outside of Moroney and a WR, in this case Jackson, I don't think he had his sights set on anything specific other than some ST players which needed a major upgrade.

I answered No...

Because I expected the draft to go exactly as it did. With NO ONE knowing what the hell BB/SP would do...

having said that my predictions where pretty much all wrong.. except that I did predict some of the concept/needs being addressed for more ball control style football. I just guessed they would do it in almost completely opposite order that they did. I do kind of like getting Belicheked, because it reassures me that he keeps his cards close to his chest and that is the best way to run an organization and get the players you want/need.

BB'd? I was buckshotted in the gut. I think the bleeding has stopped. The internal damage should take longer to heal.

I, like many other fans and NFL GMs, got BB'ed. Wouldn't have it any other way, and being BB'ed is the one prediction I did get right.

It appears that one voter is maybe not being completely honest.

I'll take that back if he can show where, either on this board or on the draft forum, he posted that we would have an "offensive draft."

Well, if you want you can see who predicted offense in the 1st round at the very least - very few said RB in the first.

I advocated for WR in the first round and feel like ultimately, by trading up, we got ourselves 2 first rounders as BB knew how to play the draft to get the guys he wanted

I had LB targeted for the 2nd round, not expecting that BB would go LB in the first round because I don't think he ever has before

Then TE in the 3rd because as was thoroghly discussed, there is no guarantee Graham will be re-signed next year and we know how much BB values TE

RB I felt would be addressed with one of our 3rd or 4th rounders as after that there aren't many good ones left, but lots of good defensive players in the later rounds.

Never expected K to go as high as the 4th round but he obviously thinks he has his guy now - I'd say at the 4th round its his job to lose

I was just joking about that. At the time there was one lone vote saying "NO- I knew it was going to be an offensive draft".

I saw several mocks showing us taking DeAngelo Williams in the first round. I did see some about two weeks out showing Maroney but none recent.

I still thought that even though Carpenter and Greenway were gone, we would take Lawson. I still have doubts about Lawson being able to play the run effectively.

I know that English was the worlds most adaptive language. I do like the concept of using Belichick as a verb.

Yup, I was totally BB'ed... I was convinced we'd take one of my Linebackers or DE/OLB converts within the first three picks. Bare minimum by the 4th. Yeah, right.

I got BB'd up the ying yang, but I don't like to talk about it in public.

Having gone bonko when we took Vince Wilfork instead of Stephen Jackson 2 years ago (yeah, I now know I was an idiot), I really didn't figure on a RB in round 1.

I thought our biggest need was LB and WR with K, DB, RB, and Oline as the other holes to fill.

I was also thrown off by a TE and a TE/FB hybrid and taking a kicker before round 5.

***

Bottom line - BB knows best *most* of the time. I still think Dave Stechelski was a mommy's boy though!

Me too!!!

He always gets me with the draft, that is what makes him great, his unpredictability!

And Gost is a baseball player too. Best of both worlds for you.

I was BB'ed and I am very pleased. I am terrible at anticipating the draft, but boy, do I have fun listening to it. Like many people here, I thought Manny Lawson, and I just had to laugh when the pick was called. Then a few commercial breaks later (I was in the car on the way to New York) and they have Chad Jackson, who my dad had been talking up to me for a few weeks now. So maybe my dad wasn't entirely BB'ed, but I sure was.

I really enjoy learning about the guys AFTER we've drafted them, rather than get attached to a player when the issue is still in doubt.

A voice of wisdom. :rocker:

If not a WR in the first I would have thought Lawson too.

I actually have some doubts about Carpenter as well and am actually glad we didn't get him (right now anyway).

I just heard a few reports about him being the last of his teammates in on every play... for all the talk about him being a Patriots kindof guy, that struck me as very un-Patriotic

We are just talking about the way the draft went - not how the players will perform.

The draft is a crap shoot and no one knows exactly what they are going to get until training camp and the season starts.

Come on Box, stick your neck out. No one will laugh at you except about 25 people.
The only thing I'm sticking out for you signifies defiance.

If it's nice out, leave it out, I always say--

I could just about see Manny Lawson go up to the podium.

Had RB and WR rounds 2-4. BB bamboozled.

Once I recovered, I love it. Total recharge on the O.

Still need to see some LB, though.

Totally BB'ed here....... I actually started to pencil Lawson in when Tags said Maroney and I stared at the TV in complete shock..... I had Maroney as the second best back after Bush and thought he was a solid 1st round pick but shelved it thinking NO way, No how, NO freakin way BB takes a RB at 21..... Gotta be defense...... I got the skewer marks to prove it too.

Still need a solid year from Dillon or two..... Ease Lo-Mo in .......:rocker:
