There are several kinds of depth. There are
1) backups who are active in the game,
2) players on the 53 man roster who are inactive,
3) Practice Squad player who can be activated, unless someone else has done so first, and
4) there are those free agents that can be added
For now, the offense has its 20 that are usually active (I suppose we could have 19) plus Wendell. This is indeed a bit thin.
