Danny Woodhead on Dan Patrick

Woodhead in addition to being a very decent golfer was supposedly an excellant soccer player. Randy Moss taught Welker to use soccer drills to improve as a receiver. Soccer skills translate well to the football field ... just a few tidbits as to why Woodhead is a great athlete and football player.

We Jet Fans were sorry to see Woodhead go. I personally am happy for him. He's landed on a team and in a system that will give him the touches he wasn't gonna get behind Green and LT. BTW he was a three sport overachiever at Chadron?...same school as Don Bebe. Good to see you guys getting your act together. Looking forward to the trip north Dec 6th.

FYI -- That is backwards, Randy noticed Wes doing ball drills with a soccerball during their first preseason here.

Actually, I think Chad Jackson taught that to the both of them.

He was the Nebraska Male Athlete of the Year. North Platte High School is in Class A, which is the class of the largest schools in Nebraska. In football, he was the state's leading rusher his senior year and both the state's all time career rushing record holder and touchdown record holder for a high school career. Those records still stand. He was the leading scorer in the state in basketball, the school's leading scorer in soccer, and broke the school's 100 meter dash record at 10.5. Then he is also a very good golfer.

By the way, in college he was a math major with a 3.72 GPA. The young man is special in lots of ways. Hard to believe he can stay so humble, but he really is.

Correct. Wes, not Randy, was the one who once scored 17(!) goals in a single indoor soccer game.
