Definitely worth reading reasonably understandable to a non-lawyer

Note that B.3 calls the IGL into play. Nicely done.

This was very helpful. He does a great job of succinctly stating what the NFLPA/Brady's arguments are.

Even a non-lawyer like me could comprehend it.

I think the most fundamental issue is:
  • The NFL argues Goodell has unconstrained power, based on a plain reading of the CBA.
  • The NFLPA, Goodell himself in certain previous communications, and four prior judges and arbitrators have all ruled that there are indeed constraints on Goodell's power.

IMO page 11 of his opinion is telling, particularly regarding Goodell's role as neutral arbitrator as the conduct of him and his office were at issue..

NFLPA did not agree that the Commissioner could do sounder circumstances where, as here, the Commissioner’s own conduct is at issue.

Dan Wallach is apparently well thought of in sports law, or maybe he posted his own bio..
