Could Delvin Breaux Boost Patriots' Cornerback Depth?

BB drafted a RB because the # 1 RB is gone and Gillislie has shown nothing and Burkhead was hurt most of last season.

He drafted a RB because the RB was the best player available on their draft board. Thinking otherwise says you really don't know much about the Patriots.

Given that Breaux's been available since before the draft, that can't be it.

Breaux isn't healthy yet. The former Saints Drs did a number on the guy, unfortunately.

I've been a big fan of Breaux since he first considered entering the league a few years ago. The fact is that you can't have too many good CB's these days and CB's with size are rarer still.

As for a potential future with the Pats, that is yet to be seen. If he were here back in March, like it was previously posted, then we know that, at least at some point, there was an interest in him. It could be that he's not healthy enough yet to bring in for a workout. It could be it was determined that he is done, or at least done for the near future.

What we DO know is that we currently have a very deep and experienced CB pool setting up for this TC. Between the additions of McCourty and the draft picks, plus CJones and JJ coming back from injuries and the returnees, we should be as well set up at the CB position as we have been in a LONG time, regardless of who the 6 guys who end up making the team turn out to be.

Just guys who are coming back from injuries ensure that this defense will be far different than the one we had for most of last season. Don't be surprised to see it start off much faster than last season.

The folks at OTA's have said it's been Gilmore and Wiltz, Gilmore and Jones, Gilmore and Rowe, Gilmore and Crossen, Gilmore and Dawson, Gilmore and Jackson, Gilmore and Moore. But no McCourty sightings at corner.
So not sure they are set at corner yet.

Didn't Breaux come in for a visit a couple of months ago?

Get a clue.

Lewis had more rushing yards than Burkhead, Gillsislie and White combined.

Not particularly. Not when they also added Crossen and Dawson. Not to mention the additions of Clayborn, the return of Hightower, Langi, etc.
Anybody and everybody the Patriots sign up is going to work out great according to you.

Every off season you heap praise on players that are cut before the 53. Especially your assessment of scrub WRs who are working at Foot Locker today.

Breaux's injury history makes him very iffy, so it would need to be a very team friendly contract where he only gets paid if he plays. But, is he even healthy enough to play at this point? Maybe if he doesn't get signed, we can revisit him at some point during the season.
