I think his comments today are part of an ongoing strategey on the part of He and His agent to negotiate one more contract.Right at the end of the season His agent came out and said that He did not anticipate that The Patriots would attempt to renegotiate Corey's contract.By doing what they did,"Corey's Team" has all but guaranteed that a renegotiation will never happen. The Patriots will cut Him and then his agent can get another deal and collect for Cory a "Signing Bonus",so that both He and Corey get one last bite of the apple.I see nothing wrong with what They are doing but let's not be naive at what is going on.

It seems pretty calculated, but for some reason, I get it, and I'm not upset. I am actually happy that Corey made the move to be released and things didn't get ugly because I have such fond memories of the 2004 season. I will miss Corey, but he is not what he used to be by a long shot. I did like him in the Jerome Bettis-type role, though.

My opinion is that corey may want to retire abd maybe that is the direction he is leading but his quotes don't seem definitive. It is his agants Job to sell corey dillon to the NFL, he isn't doing his job if he says corey is quiting when corey hasnt completely made up his mind.

I'll never forget the day we traded for him as he was one of my favorite backs prior, I probably traded for him 1,000 times in madden. My college roomate told me and From that day in april I knew number 3 was a lock.

he's leaving the door a lot more open than Junior Seau did with his "i'm graduating" line. i can't blame him if he wants to max out his opportunities. with 11,000+ career yards, with the Patriots' team single season rushing record and with his contributions to XXXIX he deserves whatever he can get. i hope that piolichick give it a shot if they think he wants a deal to play one more year.
