Not a fan of Cutler, but the criticism of him is ridiculous. Even stranger are what appear to be some calls on this thread that he should have "acted" more hurt - like if he just feigned a more pronounced limp or didn't take the stairs, he'd appease some people.

He couldn't plant. When a QB can't plant, he can't throw as well. If he can't throw as well, he may be hurting his team by stubbornly trying to hang in the game.

Likewise with Pouncey; reminds me of Freeney last year. Freeney had one good play, but otherwise was very ineffective. I doubt a 60% Pouncey will be better for his team than a 100% Legursky.

More interestingly, don't a lot of people criticize Favre for doing exactly that kind of thing? Some people just can't be pleased.

people just hate Farve altogether especially after that crap with him sending shots of his "stuff" to the Jen chick. he lost respect.

Cutler's doing the damage to himself. Being seen climbing stairs and walking with little to no limp so quickly after the game is just stupid for P.R. purposes.

So true...
He should have locked himself in his Chicagoland mansion instead going out to LA and walking shopping malls with his hot little girl friend. If he insisted going out to LA, she still should have behind closed doors, not walking up restaurant stairs, etc.
The backlash from his sitting out was so immediate, you'd think his agent would alert him of the do's and don'ts.
