It does seem like we have more picks than we know what to do with. Not the worst problem to have!
Exactly, which is what I pointed out to those who were dismayed by the fact that we threw in a 7th to sweeten the deal in the Welker trade.

Those good teams lost good players. The comp does not match the loss.

Yeah but they were all able to have very good seasons depite the losses. Really the picks are just gravy.

Did anyone ever come up with a definative answer to the "can't trade the comp pick but can select a player for another team and trade *him*" scenario? Is it legal?

I guess it is - you sign the contract, then trade to Team X for a pick in 2008, whatever... but how many suitors are out there saying "dabnabbit I would just love to get this guy at 198 but I don't pick again until 202..."

Anybody remember off hand how often people trade a high 5th for a low 5th and next year's 5th, or something like that? I just don't remember a bunch of these deals going down, whereas people will jockey like mad to go from #10 to #8.

Is there a site where you can see all NFL Teams Draft picks??

Our comp picks are better than nothing, but nothing much.

Marcus (sp) Colston was a comp pick as well as Brady,Vrable, Pass and Kaczur.

As Saul Rosenburg once said "You just never know."

well since these cant be traded....what kind of packages could we make up involving the picks we DO have....id love to try to get another pick or two in the top 100...
