Excelling at simple passes is what I wanted to see. His use of the running backs is something Cam struggled with last year. Cam will complete a difficult pass down the field and then on the very next play miss on a screen. Screens should be almost automatic. I also like how Mac gave Gunner a shot on 3rd&24 with a well thrown deep ball. That could very well be a catch by someone like Harry etc and Cam refused to just give guys a chance on those 50/50 balls last year and it drove me mad.
I want to see Mac have a few drives like 1st&20 or 2nd&20 to really see the difference between him and Cam. Cam can play well but he falls apart whenever we have a penalty that sets us back a few yards. If Mac plays wells even with penalties then I think he has a chance to unseat Cam.
I am basically done with Harry but he does have a pretty large catch radius. If he has any sort of shot at making the team, those are the kind of passes he needs to showcase what made him a 1st round pick in the 1st place.Definitely not NKeal Harry.

Why assume Mac is some snow flake who can't take it?Bill Belichick discreet in evaluation of Mac Jones’ first performance (usatoday.com)
Is it that excruciating for Bill to send a little encouragement to Mac in his development? Not everyone will take this kind of "evaluation" as well as Brady did over the years.

You do realize the players and coaches talk in real life too, right? Not just through the media. I amBill Belichick discreet in evaluation of Mac Jones’ first performance (usatoday.com)

Hell, Gunner's caught deep balls like that In practice.I liked what I saw from Mac. Excelling at simple passes is what I wanted to see. Step 1 is complete... Next up, I want to see more throws longer down the field, whenever he has the time and as long as the target isn't double-teamed...Guys like Harry, Assyassy, Nixon, Gunner & even Marvin Hall should be having more footballs thrown their way in competitive situations...
They need experience too...
He's already unseated Cam. The question is when do you put him in?If Mac plays wells even with penalties then I think he has a chance to unseat Cam.
Cam is the starter until Jones is better than him, at which point Jones will be the starter. Pretty simple, as of right now Bill doesn’t feel Jones is a better option. Once he does he will let us know.Bill is stating facts, Cam is the starter right nowzWhy would Belichick stoke the media frenzy when his plan the WHOLE time including now is to start Cam Newton and support Cam as the starter ??? The division from the media and some fans is going to fracture the team.

"...plays horribly for many weeks." Five weeks, ten weeks, seventeen weeks?Glad you feel that way. Bill has already made his call. Cam is the QB. We should support the Patriots and the QB. Unless Cam gets hurt or plays horribly for many weeks, the way to support the team is support the starting QB of the Patriots.
.
I am sorry but you make some really silly posts that almost always are incorrect. Cam is the starter until Bill declares Mac the starter. He has made that very plain in everything he has said. Bill has never once said Cam is the starter all year.Glad you feel that way. Bill has already made his call. Cam is the QB. We should support the Patriots and the QB.
