Combine vs. Pro Day

The whole Calvin Johnson deciding that he wouldn't participate in the combine but rather at the Georgia Tech Pro-Day got me to thinking about the reasoning.

1) He'd have HIS QB throwing him the ball.
2) Other players on his team would get viewed.


I think the 2nd is admirable. However, I have to question the 1st motive. Whatever NFL team drafts him isn't going to have Taylor Bennett or any of the other Georgia Tech QBs throwing him the ball.

There was a 3rd reason, but I can't think of it right now. I hope to catch the interview again.

More importantly, you can set it up that you do the drills that you are most comfortable with, and not perform your weakest "events". I can imagine the difference in Pro Days between Chad Pennington and Rex Grossman/Kyle Boller and Michael Vick.

1. yes Ball would throw but its not like Johnson hates him and they wont be wearing pads and no pressure..just like playing catch and im sure Reggie can at least do that
