I STRONGLY believe that the call for "full time" officials is nothing more than a red herring. It is designed to get our minds off the real issues that are ruining the game.

While at times I may put on my tin hat and join the mob that the fix is in. Most of the time I think the game is officiated pretty well. Think about all those "bang/bang calls they get right, and all without any replays. With all the second guessing that could go on, I doubt any of us could come close to the competency those guys do each Sunday. I mean really.

The solution in my mind is 2 fold. First give each coach 2 shots a game to challenge any play for a specific call. Give them a 3rd shot if they get the first 2 right (or not). It won't make the games any longer than they are now.

Second we ALL need to get back to the understanding that EVERYBODY involved in the game, the coaches, players, and refs, are human, and make mistakes. Those mistakes are part of the game. EVERYBODY's mistakes. We just have to stop taking them all so personal.

Now I don't know if that's possible given how gambling and fantasy have permeated the game these days.

Which why there is a certain coach in NE that thinks that it is now time that every play should be reviewable because in this day and age those mistakes can easily be corrected.

We have the technology.

And I know people jump on the whole "it slows the game down", Belichick isn't asking for extra challenges (although I think coaches should get 2-3 challenges per half. I mean they get 3 TOs per half, why the hell can't they get challenges per half? IDIOT nfl, same nfl that doesn't want to pay to put cameras on the end lines, cheap f***s), he's just asking that every play be open to review. Which TDs and Turnovers are already automatically reviewed so this continued idiocy of not allowing every play that isn't a TD or TO to be open to a coaches challenge is just being stubborn.

If BB had the ability to challenge every play, James White would have 70 more yards receiving right now.

The more I think about it, the Refereeing and the results have always been a bit of an issue and have altered the course of the game. The real issue, is the NFL* and the amount of trust they have with the fans (especially this fan and probably most of us). They are taking this cause, in trying to get it right and twisting it to further their own agenda. And, even if that was their (*cough*cough*) motive, they have put no checks in balances in place to prevent individual corruption of the system.
