RIP. Remember he was traded to Dallas. That didn't last long. Yes, Farmer had it right, as he was one of the few bright spots.

Rip

Very talented back and good return man. He played 4 seasons here from 1969 to 1972, where we won 4, 2, 6 and 3 games. His QB's were Mike Taliaferro, Joe Kapp, and the first 2 years of Jim Plunkett). His HC's were Clive Rush, John Mazur, and Phil Bengston. One the team's darkest ages, but the backfield of Carl Garrett and Jim Nance was worth watching, they could both play today. Garrett was 5'10, 210 and very shifty, Nance was 6'1 235 with very quick feet.

Carl was the intended receiver of Stabler's desperation throw on the fake roughing the passer call, which was preceded and followed by equally egregious calls and noncalls which awarded the game (and title) to the Raiders in 1976.

Oh, and Carl was black, so inevitably...
