Ok, that is a high standard especially since they went 13-0 to start the season and ended up winning the Super Bowl. But when I say that, I mean a team that has a great offense and a defense that is not so great, but makes turnovers. In all of the Pats' three wins, the defense had at least two turnovers and two of those games one turnover was returned for TDs.

I am not saying the Pats can or will win the Super Bowl, but can they be that type of team that wins 10-12 games with the Saints' model? The Saints defense was not good last year, but they made turnovers. The Pats' defense isn't good this year so far, but they are second in the league in INTs.

The 2009 Saints are pretty much this team's ceiling. A more apt comparison at this point would be the 2006 Colts. Just replace their woes against the running game by ours against the passing game.

Yes, I'm comparing them to two teams that won the Superbowl. I don't think right now we are serious contenders for the Lombardi, but I think we'll improve defensively and that should be enough to contend, seeing as there isn't a single dominant team in the league.
