He is a bit overrated. Personally I don't think it will weaken their D that much. Their D is really built around their 2 CBs and Von Miller. As long as they have those 3 things they will be elite as it makes the job of everyone else very easy.

Even if he is gone they are still a top 3 D till proven otherwise.

Ward is a bigger part of it than you think. Patrolling the middle, his cheap shots give guys bad thoughts. He's also a ferocious tackler, which you need if your DEs are committing to the pass.

This has to be a contract thing - Denver handed out huge contracts, back-ended, to load up that D. First crack was Ware. Second, right here.

Ward is one of the most overrated players in the league. Not sure what their depth situation there is but moving him is not a big loss.
