A lot of the negative stuff that was out there about Cobb was from a sportswriter who despised Cobb. Over time the myths became fact.

That was a tough article to get through. Hits close to home for me,as I'm sure it does everyone here with children. Not much greater pain in life than losing a child.
Just reaffirms what we already knew about Tommy- that he is a good and kind human being.

The longer I live the less I feel like I know- but one thing I've figured out_- the absolute most important attribute a human can have is kindness- greater than courage( because it takes courage to be kind), greater than any type of success. Like most people, I struggle to live that way- its HARD to be kind sometimes. Another reason we need reminders like this.

I guess I'm just a dirty old man, but "Mr. Whoopee" makes me think of, like, "Shaft"...you know, the guy who gets all the girls.

As you know, Tennessee & Chumley would turn to their friend Phineas J. Whoopee (voiced by Larry Storch), the “Man with All the Answers” (as described on a newspaper ad about him). Mr. Whoopee, as he was known.

The F-Troop episode where Agarn pretends to be Wrangler Jane's boyfriend (to make Parmenter jealous) is priceless.

Whew! Ty Cobb was a great guy compared to the NFL losers...overcame terrible personal childhood trauma to be a fierce competitor...not some evil scum screwing over innocent people...

Glad the letter wasn't published, rehashed. Seems fitting that it would be private between the family and Brady. I thought this was just very kind and thoughtful of Tom Brady to do.

In real life, I wish no man, woman or child ill. I always would rather give than receive. I've lived a life that required a keen sense of judgment when sizing up individuals. Roger Goodell is a scumbag.I have told everyone here since 2006, when he was greased into the commissioner's position. I went through years of acrimony here for my steadfast stance, but I NEVER vacillated. NOW we all know what has always been the truth. This disgrace of a "man" is the worst piece of excrement ever associated with any sport,amateur or professional, in our country's history. This corporate criminal is reaching the end of his rope.
