Also, ommit Cassel's success in 08' as part of your arguement.
Brady was the #2 his second season with the team.
Cassel was the #2 his second season with the team.
O'Connell will be the #2 his second season with the team. If the Patriots felt there was a better option than O'Connell, he'd be in Foxboro already.
I believe that in O'Connell Belichick trusts. I know that in Belichick I trust.
i suffered pretty much the exact same injury brady did about 2 months before and i don't have trainers taking care of me i am moving just as well as i did before the injury. the guy isn't a rb or a wide reciever he is going to be fine
I have ZERO concern about Brady other than a look of horror if he gets hit low again.
FWIW, Brady isn't a very mobile QB to begin with. By mobile, I mean Steve Young mobile. He isn't going to take off and run 80 yards for the score.
Thanks Dave - for those who don't know (as he doesn't post here enough anymore), Dave DOES know.No. I have no concerns whatsoever about Tom Brady. In fact, I think the ridiculous speculation that he will somehow be less of the player has motivated him to work even harder than he normally does. This guy is dedicated to proving the doubters wrong.
Regarding mobility, I've long considered Brady the best mobile QB in the NFL. He's possibly the best ever. People confuse "running QB" with "mobile QB." The most important thing for a QB is the ability to react and move in the pocket. Lateral movement, stepping up, avoiding the rush, putting yourself in the best position to make the throw you need to make...these are the important things that a QB needs to do. These are the things that he's working on now, and the things that are starting to feel good. 4 months before he even has to put on shoulder pads.

No, hes not Steve Young, but saying hes immobile is ridiculous. a HUGE part of Brady's game is sliding in the pocket and making time. Hes going to have trouble with that.
