Ever since 2001 Brady has been called the Golden Boy and the face of the NFL in the media. And even today he is being called that. I DON'T WANNA HEAR THAT AGAIN. It's obvious the league, media and most of this country hate Brady. They have made him the bad guy. So I'm tired of hearing the sarcastic way people say Brady gets favoritism. This whole situation proves otherwise. Run up the score all year until Brady is holding the Lombardi in San Fran.

Naw, Peyaton has always been the Golden Child imo.

Brady was the underdog for about 3 years and he's been hated ever since.

Definitely Peyton, and that could be Brady's problem. Culminating withe final blow for GOAT being Peyton's demise coupled with Brady winning again. Trust me, I coached little league teams that took all of the supposed ok players and I taught them how to play instead of ignoring them in favor of the "elites".
We would routinely beat the "elites" and I had so much vitriol and blatant fabrications directed at me I decided to stop coaching.

I don't believe that "Golden Boy" has been used as a term of reverence for about 800 years. I've never heard it (in my lifetime) used in any way but sarcastic.

You are correct, and that is what we are saying. Brady had been referred to as the golden boy by teams who accuse him of getting favoritism, calls etc. However, the real recipient of favoritism out of the NFL is Peyton.

Ah, okay. I think I may have misinterpreted the spirit of the original post. I agree.

Brady doesn't want to sell out like Manning. Brady takes less money, does his own thing and douesn't suck up to NFL personnel. The NFL feels he owes them, when in fact they owe him

It's mob rule and Brady is the Beast ...

It's not only the NFL. I guarantee this is happening in your little league, your AAU basketball, high school and college. The anointed athlete will be put in the best light while the "less talented" one will be diminished. Brady had to fight for a starting roll over freaking Drew Henson.
