lol lol lol great post.when it comes to choking the stinkees can never be beaten .tied maybe but never beat lol lol.the only team in the history of baseball to ever blow a three game to nothing lead in a best of seven lol lol lol lol lol lol.

I don't recall Brady ever being at a Red Sox game...I think he likes the Yankees. I live in a part of RI where there are tons of Yankees fans...I got used to it a long time ago.

I don't think we have any players on the Patriots who grew up in NewEngland...I could be wrong...so why should any of them like the Red Sox?

Big deal, Brady goes to a Yanks game, is there supposed to be outrage over this? There are plenty of Pats-Yankee fans (me being one of them), it's weird, but it happens, and this Yanks/Colts fan is a disgrace to Yankee fans, he should do himself a favor and shut it before he seriously embarrasses himself.

As bad as Boston's history was, they never blew a 3-0 lead. Only one team in sports history has ever done that and you'll be reminded of it every time a team goes up 3-0 in any sport. Congrats!
I think a hockey team blew a 3-0 lead, but I could be wrong, it was bad though....I still have nightmares of Brown pitching in game 7

Do you watch the Red Sox? Brady is at games all the time. He was at a game two weeks ago with Matt Cassel and before that with his Dad.

NESN pans to Brady at Sox games constantly...

This is a sneaky way to get baseball talk on the football forum.

I admire the clever way this was done. But, I don't understand why the self appointed forum cop hasn't pull this thread over and given it a ticket.

I live in NY and they don't exactly ignore him.
On the Yankees network preview this morning they said that Tom and the boys (ARod and Jeter) had dinner at some restaurant last night and they were were solo - leaving the 'girls' behind - I am sure they meant, their own girls.

Anyway, Brady is in the Post constantly in the 'sightings' page or on page 6. More than his supposedly 'famous' girlfriend.

Brady is part of Pop Culture and that is not only subject to NE/Boston.

I also thought Brady has transcended the Boston vs NY rivalry.

I thought he is popular with many NY players. At his Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year award ceremony, he was celebrated by the NY Giants Tiki Barber, Amani Toomer and Plaxico Burress, and NY Yank Mariano Rivera (in addition to Donald Trump, who has been trying to set up Brady with his Wharton Grad daughter Ivanka.)

It should also not be surprising to see Brady with Jeter. Both players went to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

Brady has been to plenty of Red Sox games ..... he's been to his share of Yankees games. Perhaps he is a Yankees fan. Big deal. What does that have to do with Football and the Patriots?

Perhaps Bridgette is a Yankees fan (though isn't she from Mass?). My g/f likes the Yankees (and I give her crap for it DAILY) and I've had to suck it up and take her to Yankee Stadium - love makes you do crazy things.

It's possible that celebs going to Yankee games is like going to Laker games- more of a "be there to be seen" sorta thing, I dunno.

I travel quite a bit and I know a lot of Yankee fans from all over the world (Red Sox fans, too). Anyhow, a lot of Yankee fans like Brady because they say he's the "football version of Jeter". Not a huge stat guy, but a guy who knows how to win. Jeter = Brady is actually a pretty good sports analogy if you think about it.

Tommy has said he rooted for the Yankees as a youngster. He was in highschool when the strike happened, and shortly thereafter - including most of his time at Michigan - they went on their run. Lots of young impressionable guys in his generation became Yankee bandwaggon fans so to speak.

Tommy certainly doesn't flaunt his baseball preference. He has lots of friends in NY and attends games when he's there in season. Celebs find a certain comfort level in the Big Apple where they are just one of many. When he's here, which is most of the time, he attends Sox games in a Sox hat. I think he supports the local team in the spirit of camraderie because he plays here. Ditto the Celtics (though he seems to have been a Heat fan this season). Unlike the rest of us he has friends on many of these teams now because of the sports celebrity universe he moves in, so his rooting interests are likely somewhat eclectic.

Hey, Schilling is a die hard Steelers fan from his days in Philly and I can't ever remember seeing him or any of the local baseball nine sporting Pats hats during baseball press briefings.

Wahahahahaha. Great post!

Gotta love thread starters that are first to respond to their own threads. Nice way to accumulate posts, Mikey. Your man love devotion is.....

No kidding. :rocker: What a great idea!

Yeah, and just imagine if those losers Ted Williams and Yaz were there. That would have been awesome as well. :singing: And now that I think about it, toss in virtually every other loser Red Sock player in history for that matter.

They may had to have held it on a cruise ship or something, but that would have been one hell of a party. :singing:

Bill Buckner - master of ceremonies! :rocker:

Yankees and Colts fan? How sad.
Other teams you likely root for:

The House in Blackjack
The Empire in Star Wars
The Phone Company
Enron
The Washington Generals

You need to refresh yourself on Red Sox history my friend - the Red Sox have won 6 championships (1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004), which is the second best all-time record in the AL (next to the Yankees) and third best overall in baseball (next to the Cardinals, who have 9).

The Athletics are tied with the Cards with 9...
1910, 1911, 1913, 1929, 1930, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1989
Philadephia/Kansas City/Oakland, they're the same franchise.

Brady told D&C on WEEI that his favorite baseball player is Derek Jeter.

Wasn't Brady a catcher at Michigan?

Maybe Brady went to Yankee Stadium because he wanted to sing God Bless America. That explains everything.

There you go....he is after all a patriot. :woohoo:

I don't know. Jeter would be a star without the rings - ROY, All Stars, gold gloves, SBs, .315 lifetime(seasons of .324, .349, .339, .324, currently .344) - he's the classic prototypical great shortstop.

I'm not sure Brady would be a star without the rings.

A star w/o rings is overrated.
