would rather sign colin kaepernick

This might actually be a worse idea than the Dalton thing, but I'm not sure...both are so terrible that I'd rather wrap my **** in bacon and jump naked into a pool full of piranhas than think about it.

What a waste of bacon...

Well, except for the many here who are apparently convinced that Stidham is well on his way to becoming a washed-up mediocre has-been.
Not yet he isn't! Also how the heck would they know?

The beautiful thing about science is just because you don't know the answer doesn't mean you can't have a pretty good guess.

Bill belichick is the best-educated guesser in the football world right now, no one is better than him at finding value. if he's all in on Stidham, then Stidham at least deserves a chance to fail.

I could actually see Dalton. Dalton isn't elite, but he's consistently in that above average range where you can probably find a way to win if you put enough talent around him. I'm inclined to write off the last couple years because of the terrible team he played for and think he's a fair bet to bounce back to a decent level on a team with an actual shred of professionalism. Much less going from one of the least professional organizations in the entire NFL to the most professional.

Unlike Bortles, who never had good accuracy and has struggled badly with inconsistency, Dalton still seems to have some talent -- he's still completing ~60% of his passes, and a positive TD-pick ratio on a 2-11 team usually means you weren't the most pressing issue on your roster.

It wouldn't even be much of a stretch to say put Dalton in a good organization and 9 wins was the floor. Back when the Bengals were impersonating a competent club, he went 1o+ wins 4 years in a row. None of the other has-beens people are bandying around were anywhere near that consistent at any point in their careers.

I say sign him. Screw it! It doesn't matter who's at QB because this is BB's team! No one player decides their success. Lose a player? No problem. Plug and play baby! Even losing Tom Brady? No drop off whatsoever because he was only successful due to BB's system/scheme. In fact, Tom won't know what to do with himself without BB. This team will be 12-4 no problem. Maybe even 13-3 because of BB's greatness.

I’d rather have...

Play QB

Bortles might be better than Hoyer at this point, but Hoyer is familiar with BB and the Pats' system, and this offseason is bizarre to say the least, so under normal circumstances I'd say sure give it a shot, but not this year.

Hoyer isn't here for what he's going to do on the field. He's a mentor, he's here to instill good study habits, professionalism and preparation into our young QB. he's the football player version of a set of training wheels.

That would be the ultimate "everything tastes good with bacon" challenge. PETA may not be happy, though. #piranhaabuse

Isn’t JaMarcus Russell available?
