Here are Undrafted CBs that Pats had signed during their rookie year

Malcolm Butler
JC Jackson
Jonathan Jones
Kenny Moore ( final day roster cut)
Justin Coleman
Mike Hilton (signed for 10 days to the practice squad at the beginning of the season his rookie year, might have stuck had Coleman or Jones got injured)

Just keep brining in the UDFAs but I would not be averse to a 1st rounder on a CB.

Our track record is not good in the 2nd round, but really that's because we keep taking 3rd rounders in the 2nd round because they have the measurables we like.

One fact about CBs and the draft amazes me. There's a remarkable hit rate for CBs in the 1st round that seems to be better than all other positions.

The hit rate for 2nd round CBs drops precipitously, which tells me that college ball is producing a handful of really good CBs every year, and then there's a steep dropoff.

The Pats claimed Coleman off waivers from the Vikings, Waived him, and he signed with the Seahawks PS. The Pats then signed Coleman to their 53 man roster about 5 days later.
