Its not realistic to say 'well this guy had a blah year' and on and on because different teams would mean different results.

Sort of like saying Calvin Johnson had a blah year in Detroit,he would have had a blah year in Indianapolis....you can't go there.

Well, first you never responded to the fact that there was little difference in cumulative receiving stats on his team and the Pats, and second you picked the least significant part of that post to respond to.
Our offense was dominant, what would Boldin have changed?

But upgrading from Flacco to Brady isn't THAT big of an upgrade.

WHAT???

Comparing Branch to Boldin does not work anyway because at this point last season Branch was STILL in Seattle while Boldin was on his way to Baltimore,we didn't know we were getting Branch....then again I wonder if the team knew that Moss wan't going to be here long either.

It isn't an apples-to-apples comparison, and as I mentioned earlier, there are factors on both sides of the argument that make it impossible to figure out (Fitzgerald's impact, QB quality, offensive style, et cetera).

But there's nothing in his career to suggest Boldin would develop into a deep threat as you asserted earlier. And there's a mountain of numbers suggesting that even if Boldin were more productive with the Patriots, it still wouldn't be a huge leap over the production we could get from another WR like Branch.

The bottom line is Boldin's season was pretty average. Not bad, not amazing, and hardly worth second-guessing the FO about.
