Bill and Roger talk football

Gross.
But it does go to show that the conflict that we see a fans, such as the various "gates", are just family spats inside a profit system that the participants are happy to be part of.
Bill and Roger may not want to have dinner together regularly, but they aren't grinding their teeth about each other, either.

Bill wants a job. He's acting but everything else you say is true.

Worse, it's manufactured nonsense to stir controversy and boost ratings.

Think of all the media attention and ad revenue the successful gates created.

The Premier League would be the greatest league on earth if they could install revenue sharing. They do so much better than the NFL but the lack of revenue sharing kills the league.

Some interesting insight into player safety and the new kickoff rules.

Funny line about BBs annual pitch for more cameras.

Even grosser.
Well, people speak publicly differently than they do privately. Not here though as we're slightly incognito.

Give Bill's agent credit. They are doing a helluva job cleaning up his image as the irascible old man who the game has passed by.

This is no longer your father’s nfl .. it hasn’t been for a long time. It’s entertainment pure and simple with a hint of athleticism. All the players belong to the same union. If you have had any experience with unions ever, it’s a brotherhood above all else. The owners are making a killing, win or lose, they end up billionaires. They have their brotherhood, the shield. Controlled by a very powerful guy, Goodell. In my honest opinion Bill was never part of this new clique of entertainment. He is still wanted the 1940-50 player mentality. Obviously those days are finished as are the 1940-50 union mentality in the work force. It was a good ride … take it for what it was. Few steps away from the WWE..

Very few steps away. This gives me a feeling like watching WWE heels and faces change place.

I thought Bill played nice but got some good points in. His draft analysis also reflected his hard-ass coaching style.

I could see Bill and Roger having a cordial relationship after the years have gone by.

I wonder if Tom would feel the same in regard to Roger, though. The scandal he went through was a much more personal attack against him.

I feel this thread could use a little decor:

That wasn't a dislike from me it was for just the image icon. We're not the only Pats forum using it as a "dislike" icon either lol

I would love to see Tom refuse to accept his Pro Football Hall of Fame honor until Goodell apologized for not acknowledging the reality of the Ideal Gas Law.

Tom has nothing to lose; why not?
The NFL on the other hand is always all about polishing their image.
It would force them to confront their fumble of the situation.

Its media driven by fans clamoring for more dirt, they had a life of their own.

I don't think I've seen Bill smiling this much in 2 decades.
Care to wager whether or not he thinks life after football might be better than expected?
