In the hunt and preparing for another big game against the Steelers Sunday. Offense is on track despite drops, lack of production from TEs and injuries at RB. The defense is another story, however, the pass defense in particular. Ellis Hobbs simply cannot cover with his back to the QB. I would start someone else (anyoneelse) on the outside. Keep Merriweather, put the rest of the DBs on a train. Since we cannot cover anyone, I wonder why they just don't rush the QB. How much worse could it be? If they can find a way to defense the pass, they can compete in the playoffs.

I'd take Hobbs over any of our other CBs on our team. He is not a shutdown corner but he is an above average starter. You can't have an Asante Samuel or Ty Law in the secondary every year. Our defense has bigger problems than Ellis Hobbs.
