I think that RB may not be as big of an issue as most think for 2011. With all these draft picks we will still get one but maybe after the 1st round or in FA. I personally think that he will be our #1 back next year. Also, Woodhead (if he can prove durable) may be a great Faulk replacement. Moss is gone and our passing game will revolve more around the TE's now. Unlike last season, we actually have a threat at TE. But does anyone else think BJGE is the guy next year? I do.

I think RB is the least important position in the NFL. So I'm not sure it matters. If BJGE does a decent job, why not?

Based on how he's run the ball the last two games, he certainly could be, moreso than anyone currenly on the roster.

he is not far from antowain smith . if we make a solid team, why not.

Drafting a RB that is a threat to take it all the way would make the passing game even better. Play action would open alot up for our recievers.

Just a thought....

Who Welker and a bunch of unproven guys?

I'd like to go with Lawfirm,Woodhead,and a high pick running back from the draft for next year. Maybe Faulk too if he gets healthy enough. Lawfirm really hasn't faced a good d yet. Let's see how he does vs steelers and ravens(although they have been run on lately).

Welker and Edelman are proven and battle tested. Hernandez has proven he can catch and run. Gronkowski has good hands. Tate has the speed and has hands also......Price is an unknown. Maybe BB trades for Branch or another vet WR.

The only way to get "proven" is to play more and get experience. :rocker:

Not to dis the poll, but let's worry about "next game" with him.

Encouraging signs, but he's proved nothing except he's a good guy, so far.

The correct spelling would be "BenJarvus Green-Ellis' (no need for the extra "s")

Oh, I voted NO. The RB position is going to be overhauled.

Time to draft a RB Bill!!! This time one that can play. Maroney had WAY too many carries in his college career. That's why he is so injury prone now.

Green-Ellis is not the answer to all our rushing problems. He's a great back, but part of having a committee is having multiple guys.
TBD - home run threat who can run for power
Green-Ellis - reliable power back
Woodhead - 3rd down blocker, threat in space
TBD - fourth string back who can do a bit of everything, potential fullback
Even if the two we have turn out well, we will still need two more to complete the committee.

Just my .02

Can benny work on his role this year first ... sheesh.

I'd say no, but only because I don't think the Pats will have a "the" guy. They'll probably draft a RB to tandem with BJGE, if I had to guess.

From what little I've seen from BJGE, he's a downhill runner, knows how to hit the hole (and where the hole is), and fights for every inch.
We may see what he's really made of, come January... but so far, he's as serviceable as Antowain was.

He'll be one of the guys. I expect a back added through the draft... and then for us to acquire McClain from the Ravens.

I would guess Faulk would be back, as will Woodhead, BJGE has a shot to be the lead back, however we will be (likely) adding 2 RB to replace Morris and Taylor. I would think at least 1 rb will be drafted.

I voted No. The Law Firm can be one of the guys, but he should not be The guy.
He doesn't have the elite vision needed to consistently see whatever holes this OL can provide.

Our RBs for next season:

Faulk - if he wants to return, and is healthy enough to return;

Woodhead - but can he take a full season's worth of punishment?

BJGE - for his familiarity & versatility;

A young version of Antowain Smith & Corey Dillon;

And a legitimate, ass-kicking FB.
If we're turning back the clock regarding our offensive philosophy,
then let's turn it all the way back, to Marc Edwards.

His role next year? How can I know. I've never watched him play golf, so I don't know whether he'll be working on his long game or his short game...or maybe his putting...during the strike.
