Bedard:Who Needs To Pass? The Pats Are Running With It

Good article... On a side note what time is actual kickoff for SB?

You stay run heavy with 4 good rested RBs and Vereen as passing weapon.

Slow the tempo down and do not get in a basketball game with Manning by throwing it more despite the fact that Broncos lost their best CB. When the Larry Bird Celtics used to play the Magic Johnson Lakers, LA wanted to run fast break up and down the floor and the Celtics would do every thing to slow the tempo down taking them out of their comfort zone. The Broncos strength is its up tempo passing attack and Manning wants to stay in the hurry up and wear the NE defense down in the mile high air.

Lets say NE wins the toss and opts to take the ball. They go on a an 8 + minute drive picking their spots to throw but grinding it out. That would drive Manning crazy sitting on the bench and place more pressure on him to score. The first quarter is more than 50% gone and Manning hasnt touched the ball yet.

About 15 minutes after it's supposed to. They always list a weird time, like 6:32, and they're always late, so if it's that, it'll be 6:47 or so.

Having a power-run game, with a stable of 4 good backs, is a luxury inthat it keeps the backs rested, and the constant, solid, time-killing drives also set up the play-action pass. New England demonstrated that well to Indy on that long throw to Amendola.

Plus, it wears down a defense better, I think, than the "hurry up" offense. It's much more physical, and gives your own defense time to rest between possessions. That's important for a team like New England that emphasizes playing full-out for the entire 60 minutes.

I seen that just wondering if that's like the pre game show or actual kickoff time.

I think everyone is expecting a shootout kinda like the first game vs the Broncos.

For some reason he listed Vereen as "Met expectations" in this game. Vereen was nearly invisible. He had a couple of runs but also couldn't haul in a key third down pass. Perhaps he meant Ridley?

I am curious if there is an update on KT or Dobson. If neither can go on Sunday than we may be forced to run whether we want to or not. I am not even sure we could field an empty backfield look? Amendola, Edelman, Collie, Vereen and....?

we should hopefully find out today when they practice. anyone know what time they do?

Even if KT or Dobson are active they won't be a big part of the game plan since they haven't contributed in many weeks and have missed considerable practice time.

Time to active Austin Collie on you playoff fastasy squads!!

The thing about Vereen as a receiver is...his hands.
