Exactly. His guy was as far from the play as anyone. If he can do that without expending a lot of effort while making his opponent second guess the value of beating Connolly off the snap, so much the better.
The Vikes analyst had a lot to say, but the GIFs he used to illustrate some of his points often didn't support his points, which throws some of his analysis into question for me. Connolly on the jet sweep is the worst of them, but it wasn't alone. In criticizing Devey's blocking, he includes an outside zone to the offensive left, where Connolly is asked to come across the face of the 1-tech DT, who is angled in on the Center, to make his block. The Pats asked their interior OL to make that sort of block a lot last year, and frequently got burned by it. In this case, I'd put the blame on Connolly for not recognizing the turned-in DT and chipping before moving to the 2nd level. He's the one making the line calls, after all. As it was, Devey didn't have a chance. Even one of the GIFs illustrating Brady's inaccuracy under pressure was flawed, as he hit Gronk in the hands in a tight space.
Still, his breakdown of the inside zone draw against the 3-3 nickel where he notes Jones and Vellano 2-gapping and WIlfork playing the A-gap seems right, as do his breakdowns for other plays depicted as GIFs, so I won't throw out the baby with the bathwater, but I have a hard time accepting his generalizations at face value, when the specifics of his analysis (which he presumably spent far more time on than the generalizations) are somewhat spotty.
