After 10 weeks its amazing that the receptions between the receiver tandems of Reggie Wayne/Dallas Clark & Randy Moss/Wes Welker are near deadlocked in receptions and extremely close in yardage totals gained through 10 games played.

Wes Welker - 79 receptions 854 Yards
Randy Moss - 63 Receptions 925 Yards
TOTALS 142 RECEPTIONS & 1779 YARDS

Reggie Wayne - 76 Receptions 968 Yards
Dallas Clark - 65 Receptions 771 Yards
TOTALS 141 RECEPTIONS 1739 Yards

With Wes out and hurting for a few games early on,its amazing that the Patriots actually are 1 whole yard ahead in receptions between the two offensive powerhouse teams best 2 receivers.

BTW: The Dynamic Duo tandem of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are way back beyond these two at 122 receptions and 1404 Yards

Welker and Moss are the best Receiver tandem in the league. Anyone who says otherwise is just plain crazy.

Clark is a fantastic receiving tight end but he still plays tight end in our system so he stays in to block on a good number of routes.

So is Manning really doing more with less then? On face value, that seems a fallacy to me.

Manning isn't coming off a season ending injury.

The next time Dallas Clark stays in to block on a passing play, will be his first.:singing:

We're going to get you to come over to our side sooner or later...I just feel it.

If you're talking players who officially play WR you're right. But Clark stretchs the field as a WR much of the time. He has 8 catches of 20 yards of greater compared to 4 for Welker.

BTW, both tandems have scored 12 TDs so far.

Ha ha ha, he stays in more then I would like, especially with the younger receiving corps we have I would rather we brought in Gijon Robinson (A better blocking tight end) and have Dallas move to the slot.

Highly unlikely bit you keep thinking that

True the way he stretches the field yes, however he stays in when the colts are getting heavily blitzed and we have to protect a little more. See the first point about how clark stays in more then I would like.

Clark is having his best receiving year however his value in pass protection simply because he also takes away generally one of the better cover guys in a secondary can not be mistaken.

I am just glad to see that he is getting respect here. We as Colts fans of course think he is the bees knees, however I don't think he gets the respect around the league, he had a better statistical year in 1 less game last year and still didn't make it over gates.

I can't think of a serious Pats fan who doesn't respect Clark. He's killed us for years. BB also give a nice (and very deserved) call out to Reggie Wayne after the Colts game, pretty much declaring him as good as an WR in the league.

That's more directed at the misconception in the media that Manning is the only person with new players in skill positions and the apparent misnomer that he is doing "more with less".

I don't agree, as evidenced by this thread.

Absolutely. They have been two of the best and consistent players during the Manning era. The fact is, I'd love to have either at the Patriots for the professional nature in which they go about it.

Personally I think this year Wayne is playing better than Harrison ever did (if you compared it to any given year of Harrisons)

And Harrison was a HOFer, so that's a high compliment to Wayne, not an insult to Harrison.

I didn't mean that as as saying that you guys didn't it was nice to get confirmation.

Reggie gets respect I think though this year people are starting to realize how truly special he is as a receiver.
