I'd like to plant this seed. Is it feasible to create and develop an alternative professional football league that doesn't suck?

The XFL obviously didn't work out so well but McMahon was never really the man for that job. But with Bob Kraft's resources and Belichick's football mind, could they come up with a version of professional football that doesn't suck ass? Doesn't pander to women and overgrown children? Takes player safety seriously? Doesn't mind spending a few extra bucks for cameras to help referees get calls right? Carefully screens it commissioners so we get people who legitimately care about the integrity of the sport instead of some piss ant tyrant whose idea of "integrity of the game" is selectively enforcing rules to help his old club and embarrassing their rival?

Is it just a crazy pipe dream or could it happen?

Lol I randomly thought about this last night too

It's been tried a few times. The USFL, and whatever the last one was. I think the bottom line is people want to see the best players so any league needs to be able to outbid the NFL teams. But they won't have big TV contracts, and other avenues of revenue like the NFL.

Why would Bob Kraft do this when he makes money hand over foot in the NFL, a business entity in which he is arguably the most powerful partner? Many posters on this board seem incapable of understanding that Kraft and NFL are inseparable - their motives are one and the same.

I guess it sounds like your talking about some sort of mutiny. Like if Kraft and some other owners just broke off into a separate league. Seems unlikely but I'm sure they could make plenty of money.

For the Pats it may be time to consider the alternatives, since the status quo is to stay in a league run by an anti-Pats dictator whose decisions cannot be questioned.

Doubt it's feasible, but if it is it would have to be created by the Pats.

Here's the scenario. Brady and BB head two teams, all the Patriot players and coaches will later be divided up by bucking up or rock paper scissors or something [don't laugh that's the current pro bowl system].

After that, Kraft and Giselle can acquire one franchise each, or just find a city with a stadium and select the other coaches and players available to add to their seed allotment.

Belichick will be an exception. He isn't allowed any Pats players or coaches, he has to start from scratch and his team has to be in the new york metro area [don't bother me with details, we are combining his money with the fortunes of Brady, giselle and Kraft to buy teams and stadiums.

If it's easier, I might allow him to have the Jets and only keep two of their players, the other positions will have to be stocked with the fastest guys in the Home depot parking lot as he drives through in a pickup truck.

So, we have four teams to start, any city with a stadium can bid for a team and even be allowed to start if they capitalize it by crowdfunding from people in that area.

Every team [except Belichick's, if he wants to coachand GM too] Will have to be coached by an ex patriot for the first five years. If an ex Patriot has an existing media contract with the NFL propaganda network, or the ESPN even more propaganda network, they will be allowed and financially backed to buy out those contracts and any ex patriots will be allowed to supplement their income broadcasting on the new 24 hour international sports and fashion [Surprised it hasn't been tried] network which will be originated by Kraft and Giselle.

I'm not discounting the importance of appealing to the casual fan either. Certainly there's something wrong with LA not being able to support a team, but with the new Giselle owned LA there will be fabulous fashion shows at halftime and a contract with the E network to supplement actual football content.

Other teams will be encouraged to provide entertaiig content for the laydies!! *Bill Burr*, such as marvelous recipe segments like this.

thoughts?

Watch college football. I am very tempted to stop following the NFL. Its too damn stressful. Sports is supposed to be drama free entertainment. Instead, I have been pissed off since December. I'm tired of it. Life is hard enough.

DefenseRules is right. If I wanted drama I'd teach Jr High...
