AL wins home field advantage in World Series

national league hasn't won the all star game since 1996.

1996.

That's a lifetime for some fans.

The ironic thing is that if you're old enough , you remember when the proverbial shoe was on the other foot and the AL couldn't buy a victory losing something like 21 out of 22 in the 1970s and 80's....

Kindof tough to blame Maddon for not putting Wakefield in... no catcher good at catching the knuckle ball - playing a close game that means something - potentially to the Red Sox's post season chances - knowing that if the game went into extra inning's he'd actually need Wakefield.

I'd rather be cursing Maddon for not putting him in than cursing him for not playing to give the Sox homefield advantage in the World Series (hopefully)

Still, count me among those who thinks its rediculous to try to foster ratings for the All Star game this way... simply give the home field advantage in the World Series to the team with the best record and make the all star game an exhibition.

It means something now and no one STILL watches.

the only thing that counts in playoff baseball is who's on the bump. home field means squat.
