Adjusted Expectations?

Only @RobertWeathers gets a discount on toes but yeah I can but it'll cost you. And you failed to take a number so your wait time has increased

I have Aimee Mann on stand by.

Just sayin'

Is there a way to tell your poll votes?

I remember posting "take the over" in a few threads.... i can't see where i posted a full prediction, but think i picked at least 10-12 in a poll

Right now, I would be disappointed if they don't hit at least 12

So you're predicting they'll lose every tough game they have for the rest of the year?

I am predicting what I believe will happen. I don't really care if I have your permission or not. There was no asterisk on the post saying I needed to check with you first.

Didn't say I did. Likewise, I'm allowed to ridicule you.

To make a long story short. Right now my new current goal is make the AFFCG. Either with or without the bye. The bye makes it easier. I still don't see this team as super bowl worthy. We've been so lucky this year health wise. You need to figure at some point we will lose someone who really matters who won't be back this year. The list of players we really can't afford to lose and have no realistic replacement for is just too long this year for me to hope a SB is possible.

And even if we do get really lucky injury wise, it is still at best a coin flip situation multiple times in a row.

I hope I am way off the mark here. I made a comparison to seasons gone in another thread, Bradys last and how we fell away. I think A better comparison would have been Macs 1st season. 7 games on the spin and then..Indy. After the wind game. The wheels came off. When the home game with Buffalo came around, it was SO different. My expectation? I would view making the playoffs as a succesful season and I think we will, hopefully with a bit to spare.

It is a test on this schedule, but injuries have weakened them. Looking to see if we can handle the QB on D and move the ball on offense.
The NE run game could be a concern.

I wish that the Pats could have added some power there. KC tried to land Breece Hall to bolster their offense.

I really just want to stay in the moment and resist the temptation of expectation this season. Regardless of how this season plays out, I know my expectations will be significantly greater next year so I just want each game to stand on its own and enjoy them.

As great as the Brady years were, anything short of an AFCCG was a disappointing season. How many fans of other teams would love just one shot at that.

The most enjoyment I've received in being a fan of this team has been seasons when I didn't have high expectations for them (1985, 1994, 2001) and they easily exceeded them. This year is one of them.

Just like I try to convince myself in life, enjoy the journey, let the destination take care of itself.

Brady's last season is pretty applicable. We looked like world beaters but everyone kinda knew the weakness of the schedule and circled the Ravens game as the one that would tell the truth on the team. That was week 9. It's now week 10. I think a lot of people had this Tampa game circled as the "this will show us where they stack up against the playoff chasers".

This could be their 2001 game vs the Rams or their 2019 game vs the Ravens.

Another question to ask is what team in the AFC team could you make a case for that can beat the Patriots? The Steelers beat them already (which they had no business doing), but I don't see the Pats facing the Steelers again. If the Pats win tomorrow, their chances of getting the #1 seed will skyrocket with the only remaining team with a winning record they face are the Bills at home. Baltimore will be tough if Jackson is still playing. Also, Flacco is being his ******* self trying to play spoiler so I'd watch out for him as well.

The difference is that Maye is light years ahead of Mac, both is his current progress and in his innate ability.

OBVIOUS BUT AS A REMINDER AT THE HALF
1) We have 3 tough games left.
2) We have 5 games against bottom ten teams.

ELEVEN WINS (4-4)
0-3 and 4-1 should be very doable (with 1-2 and 2-3 being a fallback)

EVEN WINNING ONLY THREE GAMES
probably gets us into the playoffs with TEN wins.

Adjusted after the tampa win:

Floor - 12-5 (4-3 rest of the way). Crazy to think 12-5 would be a disappointment

Conservative prediction- 13-4 (5-2 rest of the way). Id take it, very realistic . Very likely would get us the 1 seed imo

Hopeful prediction - 14-3+ (6-1+ rest of the way). Almost definitely gets the 1 seed and not unrealistic at all.

5-2 the rest of the way is conservative?
I could see losses against Buff/Balt and maybe one of Cincy/NYG/Miami.
Do I think think they will lose 3 of those....not really, but if I was being conservative I would say 4-3.
If Burrow is back (his practice window opened today), that game is not a cakewalk.
We've beat Tua once in 8 tries.
Balt is starting to look like Balt again.
Allen can win a game almost on his own.

I believe Burrow is targeting the game after ours.

An 8-2 team which has been steadily improving going 5-2 against a roughly similar strength of schedule is a pretty conservative, yes.

Burrow is targeting thanksgiving last i heard and even if he does push it back hes gonna be rusty( see his week 1 performances). Tua is coming here in January, its gonna be freezing, and youre seriously worried about tua?????
