Saw blurb scrolling at the bottom of the screen on NESN that Adam Vinatieri "is downplaying the hype about the Patriots running up the score. This isn't junior high school, it's professional sports."

I take back a couple of the nasty things I've said about you Adam.

He did say a ton of stupid stuff on the way out and did seem to burn some bridges that he didnt need to.

But hey the guy was a hero for 2 superbowls + for us and i will never forget that.

What did he say?

he better retire as a patriot...

AV can bite me. When he retires, then the hurt and anger will subside. But for now, screw him.

Well he ought to be taking up with us. His Superbowl wins are "tainted" in his locker room right now. How weird must that be?

Adam tries to soften the blow...

He was a hero in SB36 and the Snow Bowl. In SB38 he was one for three - and he just happened to make the last one. And in SB39 the difference in the game was 3 but he didn't kick to break the tie - so he was no more of a hero than any other player who contributed on offense, defense, or special teams.

And no, this is not sour grapes. I said the same thing when he was salary demanding his way out of town and some fans were arguing we couldn't afford to lose him.

Having said that, the kick at the end of regulation in the Snow Bowl was certainly the greatest kick I have ever seen. Great kicker? Luck? Divine intervention? Who knows, but I'll grant him that was one incredible kick.
