Talk about not paying your dues. Sure he could turn out to be pretty good but surprised they went with somone with so little experience. Scratch that, its Jed York, one of the worst owners in the NFL. His imprint is felt in a big way to that team. His own fans hate him.

York got his job handed to him even easier than Lynch. They're cultivating some real weird kind of culture over there...

Not sure the Elway comparisons apply. Elway ran an arena team, two restaurants, and five auto dealerships. The Broncos knew he could read a balance sheet, manage a team, do planning, and other business stuff.

Hopefully the related large doses of antidepressants and alcohol that Shanahan will be consuming over the next week will affect his preparation for Sunday.

I was about to post something along those lines.

I wonder if Shanahan is considering bailing on becoming HC in SF, and that certainly can't help him in keeping his thoughts where they should be right now.

Was thinking the same thing. I feel bad for the other candidates that have poured blood sweat and tears into their careers to get a chance at something like this, only to be passed up by someone like Lynch who has zero experience.

I thought the same thing when Sean McVay got hired with the Rams. Imagine spending years and years as an assistant rising the ranks, and then seeing a 30-year-old wunderkind pass you up.

Shocked you could consider a guy with no previous scouting back ground. Not the choice I would have made. That said he seems to be a smart guy and if he can surround himself with good personnel people maybe he can pull it off.....but I remain skeptical
