2027 Draft: Interior Offensive Line

Yep, I would make at least 2 interior OL picks next year with views to starting. AVT is, unfortunately, an injury waiting to happen. And it doesn't look like Onwenu is the type of player they want moving forward.

Preferably, one of the IOL prospects could also play tackle, and the other could also play center.

Only one thing is certain in the NFL... injuries. You need to make sure you have solid options. I'd argue this is ESPECIALLY true anywhere along the OL. A strong OL can do wonders for your other 'talent' positions.

We have 9 picks and need to refresh the defense. The draft capital spent on the offense has been leaning way to the offense, that needs to change.

Obviously, I disagree on the priority level. Not disagreeing the defense needs help, but I think quality pieces are more easily found in free agency on defense than on offensive line. Solid OL are rarely ever allowed to reach free agency these days.

Sure. Draft a Guard & TE, pick up a backup IOL in FA. You know that QB & CB are going to set the contract for those positions. You know we need a #2 CB and LBs and Barmore will be a question and Landry's knee. You can't replace them with low bar FAs and UDFAs. Not if you want a Top 5 defense.
