Alabama DE/DT Jarran Reed is apparently declaring, though not confirmed. Now that's interesting. I hadn't really expected him to come out, so I haven't really thought how he compares with my top DT candidates.

@BransonWright: Rumors are circulating in #Cleveland that #OSU QB #CardaleJones is leaning on declaring for the #NFL today.

That would make the draft more entertaining for sure.

Premature. Announcement, which was pulled yesterday before it could officially be confirmed. Now Rand Getlin of Yahoo.com is reporting that Reed is expected back at Alabama next year:

Bummer. Reed would have provided similar versatility and skills to Eddie Goldman, and would have increased the chance of the Pats getting someone with that skill set in the late 1st/early 2nd round.

And in the quickest about face ever, the minute I finished the above post, I saw a tweet saying that Jackson is returning for his senior season.

News in the twitter era.

Happened to me with Jarran Reed. Ouch.

Bearing in mind the limited amount of tape, if Cardale Jones declares, his pro-day is going to be seriously hyped.

@AlbertBreer: Wide range of opinions on Cardale Jones? One GM told me he could be 3rd QB taken. A college director said he looks like a TE who throws.

I think this crazy story culminates with Cardale being drafted in rd 1 (if Ponder and Manuel get drafted in rd 1, he can). But if he falls, worth monitoring as a weird BB pick?

I remember Manx liked Logan Thomas as a TE.

EDIT: wow he returned

That was a lot of unnecessary hype from the last few days. can get back to normal now.
