20 Points Is Sometimes Just Not Enough

Well if the defense would have done better than allowing 3 TDs and a FG out of 6 drives, it would have been.
It takes a lot of points to beat a team you are allowing TDs on half their possessions.

The likelihood of us winning any game in which we 20 or less points is extremely low, how the opponent goes about scoring is neither here nor there the bottom line is we need to score more to win and we could have if not for the fumble by Ridley and the poor call at the end of the game, our defense played well enough for us to win the game in my opinion.

I don't know why this is hard to understand.

This defense is not good enough for us to expect a win unless the offense consistently scores more than 20 points.

To be fair the defense is depleted by injuries to its best players at every level:

DL – Wilfork, Kelly
LB – Mayo
DB – Talib, Dennard, Gregory

With the exception of Talib who was clearly not 100% and left towards the end of the game we were without some of the best players in the NFL at their positions. The defense was good enough, unfortunately it has been decimated to the level that 20 points will not get the job done.
