2/8/09: What happens to Matt?

It's been a rather eventful two weeks, seeing as Cassel has been franchised and has accepted the tag.

So, I present the exact same poll, with the exact same choices, except for the one impossible choice (becoming a UFA). I'll be interested to see how much opinion has swayed from the last time I asked.

Agreed. Although, I believe that the multiple non first picks could include non first picks from future years, as well.

If the Pats don't expect a trade package at the high end of what's been speculated, this move has a risk/reward ratio highly skewed in the wrong direction. (Indeed, it's fairly skewed even if that's what they DO expect.) Hence I think that's what they expect. Since I think they know more than I do about such things, I'll take their word for it at least to the extent that I expect a first-round pick.
