My Dad always raves about seeing them play at BU, I'm sure he was in the stands for one of those games. I'll have to show this to him, he'd love it! I didn't start going until '75/'76, so I try to watch all of the youtube vids I can of that era. What a fun time that was. I wish I could go back to those early Sunday mornings, load up the car, hit the parking lot (or wherever you parked), and start eating as good as I did back then as a kid. LOL, back then, you parked on Rt.1 and walked to the stadium! Does anyone remember the Stardust Lounge on Rt. 1? My Grandmother had a bunch of ashtrays that my Dad would bring home as a souvenir for her. I remember it so vividly because it was a landmark for how much further we had to walk to the car!

simply awesome - many thks
bellissimo

RIP#40, did you go to CM?

I wonder how realpatsfan feels about the hat logo or that the color red always takes a hit, tatoos, film, fabric. That old film clip had the uniforms almost Denver Orange.

Yes. 1974

Yes. 1974

1977. I remember that great athlete (Dave Singletary?) blond kid, when I was a freshman. We (you and I) almost walked the same halls, but the freshman were sequestered in the old brick school house across the street.

And Ronnie Perry 1976. CM was a good jock school back then, before they even had a hockey team.

Go Knights.

Archbishop Wms had some great battles with CM back in those days. Steve DeOssie was a FB/LB for Don Bosco around that time too....or a bit earlier. LOTS of good players that came out of the Catholic Conference back then

You were close, David Singleton. I believe Paul Ragucci was the other RB.

September 9, 1960.
Denver vs the Boston Patriots Denver won 13 to 10.

We had 50 season tickets 25 in one row on the 35 yard line and 25 in the row behind. The guys sat in the front row and the dates and wives sat in the second row.

All the guys worked in Boston and we're good friends. We would party before the game at a friend's apartment in a high rise on Charles River then go to the game and after the game we would party again. We were young then. Those were the days we used to steal each other's dates.

Gino "The Duke" Cappeletti number 20 had the most points for the 10 years of the AFL. He opened a bar in Copley Square called The Point After, nice place lots of good looking girls.

The first year the games were played at night if I recall at BU Nickerson Field . We only won 5 of 14 games that season.

Love the Pats, great memories, still exciting. I haven't missed a game either in person or on TV. Go Pats

Found this on you tube, the 1960 team highlight film. I love the helmet design and the style of the video direction is pretty funny. My want to see it before they take it down.

That's awesome......my dad took me to that very first game ever (at BU Field) and I haven't stopped going ever since!! Hooked at the tender age of 8!

Wonder if there was a fan who complained non stop about switching from the hat logo to Pat Patriot lol.
Well, the hat was on the helmets for one (1) whole, entire, full season...

Old friend Fred Cusick narrating, right on!

OK, now are our guys downing Schlitz beers at 10:36 while discussing strategy to lead to victory?

Or is that just soda pop?

Here's one version (and if I'm seeing things right there are glimpses of Messrs. Nelson and Haynes) with all the classics. You've got Cosell narrating his over-dramatic intro to "Heavy Action" (which is not, as many falsely believe, the MNF theme) and then the IMHO best version of the MNF theme.

OMG That's not Nellie, it's the one and only Steve Zabel (yup, rhymes with Vrabel, as in Mike)

Can't miss him with the 'stache!!

Funny, he left Pats after '78 and retired a year later...but he's still cool enough to be on MNF Intro

Yeah, that's right, eat your heart out, Rob Nink!

D'oh! How could I forget that Nellie was #57, god damn it.
