I think a year ago all of us would have signed up for Maye to be #8 and there's no reason to think he's hit his ceiling already. Could also make an argument that this is too low.

Kermit Mahomes is #2 on reputation only and nothing more. He stunk last year and the refs weren't helping him anymore.

Yeah, look at Mahomes stats, advanced or otherwise, the last 3 years and someone tell me how he's a top 2 NFL QB?
Maye would be in the top 3 if it wasn't just 1 year, he has another year like last year and he'll be in the top 3.

If you limit the list to those that will be under 30 when the 2027 Super Bowl is played:
Herbert: 28
Maye: 24
Williams: 25

Dak Prescott? Number 6? Every so often he'll have a game or a brief stretch of games which serve to keep delusions of his excellence alive and his bank account pleasingly plump. I guess it's working for him, on both fronts.

As for Drake, #7 with a bullet based on abundant upside is probably about right. He has more to prove, but I really think he'll succeed in doing so. I expect him to jump to top-five by this time next year.

Kermit have three SB rings and played in Five SB's unlike his overrated peers.

Funny how some of us Pats fans forget.
Back in the day when Brady was winning his first SBs without gaudy stats, and Manning was rewriting history books, we all rightly pointed out how Brady was a winner, and that’s all that mattered.
Now probably many of those same people want to pretend Mahomes isn’t a top 3 NFL QB.
I am not a Patrick fan, but dude is a proven winner and I have no doubt he will continue to be a winner for many more years.
Maye is ranked in about the right spot, but has the ceiling to climb much higher on the list.

Couldn't have said it any better myself: I don't get the hate for Mahomes on here. But to each their own as they say. The same people who dump on Mahomes have their collective heads up Josh Allen *yet to play in a SB* and Joe Burrow's *always injured* @ss: I guess they're more likable.

I would take Trevor Lawrence our Prescott - Herbert and Goff *thank you*. Also Jayden Daniels had too great a Rookie year to be discarded. Glad Caleb Williams is proving his Patsfans doubters RONG!

Dak consistently has very good regular season stats only to flare out when it matters the most. Decent fantasy option and literally nothing more.

Herbert? By all means out up great numbers his first two years but also had a stacked offense. Has also looked rough when the lights are most bright.

I feel those are the two he's already ahead of, and Jackson/Burrow aren't as far ahead as some might think.

I think it's partly due to where the referee's mouths seem to be during Chiefs games, as N'Keal Harry of all people can attest.

The Worst WR in Patriots history throwing shade??

Lamar is way too high and Stafford is too low.

If Maye stacks another good year in 2026, he'll be top 3 in 2027.

Burrow had elite ability, but his availability is erratic. The team is also so bad which will hold him back.

Mahomes is #2 out of respect, but he's trending downward. He reminds me of the 2000's Favre who got sloppy and other QB's continually were passing him up.

As always, past accomplishments or visual/physical tools weigh more on these lists.
Lamar, Dak & Herbert should not be above Maye right NOW, going into this season.
Because trajectory & clutch & winning experience does matter. And they've all done nothing to show they can get where Maye has already gotten above those 3.

For the same reason, Darnold could reasonably be put above Maye and I wouldn't fight it.
He should be on the top 10 above Caleb or Dak.

Manning arguably had better end-of-season stats but Brady was still always near the top.

Mahomes has not been near the top for 3 years--he's been downright below average. Brady never had such a stretch.

Brady's greatest strength wasn't being the undisputed best QB every single year. It was being the one name that was always in the conversation, year in and year out, no lulls, no exceptions.

The difference is that Mahomes started out as Manning and has been trending downward since Hill left like very early Brady. As the talent around him continues to erode, so has his mechanics. Bledsoe was doing the same thing by 1999. Favre also got sloppy in the 2000's.

Brady was improving each year and evolved as the game did. Had he been stuck in his early year play from 2001-2004, they don't win another Super Bowl after 2004. Brady didn't rely on defenses to carry him which Mahomes is starting to do - not including the refs.

The Chiefs had a good run, but they are cooked. The defense is another year older and just lost their starting CB's to the Rams. It the Broncos division now. Chargers have a window as well if they can get an actual threat at WR/TE for Herbert.

Spot on.

Don't be shocked to see KC and Mahomes in LA this February. All this talk of Mahomes washed up and done are what those folks want to see happen, but they will be disappointed for at least a few more years.

Top 10 QBs??

Dak - No. Entering his 11th season with a 2 - 5 post season record.
Herbert - No. Herbert has never won a post season game in 6 years.
Lame Jackson - The Entertainer. 3 - 5 post season numbers. Jackson cant decide if he is a passer or a runner and will surely choke in cold weather.

1. stop it with the "he's old" crap ... basically until he retires, or Drake topples him, he's the best QB in the league

2. allen? great arm... maybe the new guy can get him over the hump... the old guy couldnt... but he regressed a bit yards down, tds down ints up ... not by a lot, but enough to make you wonder

3. stafford? eh, 3 is about right... but it wouldn't surprise me if his arm snaps clean off... dude is like 83 years old... keep waiting for all the "cliff" talk to start... or the ped rumors to start swirling... anyone check his wifes mail yet?

4. Drake Maye - five out of the ten qbs on the list have been to the SB, 2 in the NFC, 3 in the AFC ... of the three in the AFC, Drake has the best shot at returning the way the teams are currently trending...

5. dak - hes here because i wanted to drop the others lower... bascially he has a big arm has great receivers but you know he ain't winning jack **** unless it comes in a crackerjack box

6. Lamar - great arm/legs... maybe the new guy can get him over the hump... the old guy couldnt

7. burrow - just not a durable fellow... unless the bengals do a 180 and provide real protection for him, hes staring another trip to the IR in the face again...

8. williams - if he continues to develop with ben johson, finishes the season as a top 5 qb...

9. goff - he's a wait and see QB... as in we got to wait and see how he's gonna mess this up, because you can't count on him to win the big games...

10. herbert - used to really like him... now was seriously considering scrubbing him from the top ten for darnold... but, sanity held sway and **** that former jete guy... i hates him forever

That's absolutely not happening. Their team is trash and everyone has their limits of how far they can carry them. Brady was actually getting better while they went on a 10 year drought. Mahomes game has been getting sloppy and is taking knives into gunfights.

In the end it's a team game. Dak and Herbert are among the league's best but have been held back by owners, coaches and supporting casts. Their teams would have absolutely no shot of winning anything without them.

Lamar is the only QB I can agree with. He's an entertainer, but he really hates throwing ball when he has to. But like the others, his teams have mostly been trash.

I think Maye and Caleb should be moved up to 5 & 6, and the others fall in line after them.

Depending on how long Mahomes plays, I could see the Chiefs retooling and becoming a competitive force again, maybe for a few years with Mahomes. Their drought won't have as many wins as the Patriots did from 2004-2014, but if they weather their rebuild with Mahomes adapting... And Reid staying as HC, keeping Spags, who knows. Tough ask. They'll have to get a better at drafting offensively. Or Mahomes will have to pull a Wembyama and reduce his cap hit.

If it took them 10 years, Mahomes would be pushing 40. Tough to have rebuilds/droughts 8 years into your career. Brady lucked out with a team and coach that got him 3 in 4 years, then they went soul searching for quite some time, getting close here and there. He was only 37 going into that second window.

While I personally don't give a **** and revel in the fact, it must suck total ass to have had Brady in your way at the beginning of your career like Mahomes had. Brady was the dam that held back multiple trophies for Mahomes.
