Patriots Have More Trouble With the Officials Than Chiefs In Loss

Bob George

Enough complaining from opponents who claim that the Patriots get all the calls.

Just got home from work and watched the game on DVR. As far as Im concerned, the Pats made the comeback and the officials stole that one. It should have been tied late. I mean cmon, a scoop and score taken away and Harry’s TD?

Some of the whining here is embarrassing. You guys are Pats fans, supposedly, but you're acting like Ravens, Colts, and Chiefs, etc., fans by taking meaningless regular season games so seriously.

Sack up.

September to December is for the lesser 31. January to February is for The Dynasty.

This game was bad but the 2015 home game vs Denver that was essentially for home field was the worst officiated game I've ever seen. Would of been 5 Superbowl appearances in a row if not for that game.

There was no home game against Denver in 2015.

I agree that it is lame to complain if you are making excuses, but come on if you are going to turn a blind eye then you are comatose. What is the point of the connection to the NY Field office if not to set things right, such as that missed touchdown that everyone and his great grandmother saw except, somehow, the officials

The Patriots put up 9 points in the final three quarters. Even if you add four more points for the Harry touchdown play, that's only 13 against a talented Chief offense after the first quarter.

I don't see how this loss is on the refs when we failed to make plays for most of the game.

Yes. Both games were in Denver that season.
Ya I remember the AFC Championship I was there. Denver fans were nice all game until Gronk caught the last TD and NE tried a 2 pter. They were real nervous.

Its not 4, they would have had 7 instead of 3 and at the end kicked a field goal at least for 3 more. If the official wasn't sure he stepped out of bounds, apparently he wasn't because he didn't, he should have allowed the TD and let it go to review. Dumb *** call.

Yes, I remember when we had a 50 yard gain wiped out mid 4th quarter on a VERY ticky tack offensive PI< called pretty late as I remember. We would have all but salted the game away with that 1st down as I recall, especially that deep in their territory.

Was that the face guarding call?

I did. If I recall correctly, we struggled across most of it on offense, threw a bad pick, and had some trouble on defense in the first half. The officiating was terrible but I don't think that's what cost the game compared to not playing well.

I guess we can play excuse bingo. If this were the only loss to a good team, I'd be willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt. But we've lost to all the good competition, so I don't think it is time to go blaming zebras for why this team is in trouble.

The defense had about 8-10 minutes where they didnt play well before they adjusted. Second half they were fine.

The defense was fantastic most of the game. But the stretch they didn't certainly hurt because we couldn't even reach 17. If the offense can improve, as we've all been hoping for a while, then the defense could limit the Chiefs to 20 in the playoffs and help us squeak out a win.

It's not excuse bingo, it's pointing out the obvious. The Patriots had 14 points taken off the scoreboard due to bad officiating. That's a fact. The ensuing drives to get 10 points out of the 14 took game clock that would otherwise been available for potential additional possession. That's not in dispute, that's a fact. Correcting the bad officiating caused us to lose a timeout. This timeout could have provided a final possession to win the game. That's not in dispute, that's a fact.
You seem to be stuck on 'look at this quarter, look at that quarter, look at that play' and are adamantly stating that's the only reason. No. But yes, a very notable contributing factor for the Patriots inability to score more points than the Chiefs was due to a number of poor possessions by the O and the D. Another reason for their inability to score sufficient points for victory was (see above). In a shocking! bit of analysis, it ends up multiple factors can go into a team's inability to score enough points to win
