Gronkowski Likely Facing Penalty From NFL After Hit On Sunday

I meant the team could punish Gronk. Either formally or something informal (like sitting out a quarter next week).
I hear you but I don't see it happening

lol at Rodney. Really!! We have at least a 10 minute hi light reel on your cheap shots

So disappointed in Gronk. Hopefully he learns a lesson. Takes the focus away from the total incompetence of the refs.

ya, Rodney harrison really shouldnt be one to talk...if he was in todays NFL some of those hits would be flags/suspensions

belichick will sit him for a few plays at least against miami. he was not pleased with gronk after the game.

Belichick Apologizes To Bills Coach Sean McDermott For Gronk’s Dirty Hit: “It Was ********” (VIDEO)

100% agree, I’m sure Gronk will get to sit few plays, he is a child on the field, love him, he gives 110% every game. But sometimes Dad BB needs to remind him that he needs to think about the team. Penalties like that could cost games and we don’t need that when we play Pitt in a few weeks, we have to be disiciplined. Also the penalty committed by Butler was stupid, it was a 3rd down and long and we gave them a fresh set of downs. Thankfully Gilmore did a good job in the red zone.

Back to Gronk I can live with what he did with Sergio Brown when he threw him out of the club, but the hit today on the back of the helmet didn’t look good at all.

From FootballZebras:

Additional considerations: should they have ejected Gronkowski? It’s borderline, and they certainly could have considered it flagrant enough to do so. It is still a hit that can be seen as absent of an obvious malicious intent, so it becomes a judgment call. There is a separate judgment call that is to be made Monday morning at league headquarters to see if it is a suspendable offense. It still doesn’t seem to raise to that level, but there have been other surprises this season.
Quick calls: Week 13

I think he gets suspended for that, and I wouldn't think it would be unfair. That was just very dirty and the guy could've been paralyzed.

Guys like Suh and Burfict do worse over and over again and they don’t get suspended.
what has that got to do with it? you assume fair treatment and equal justice from the league? haven't you been paying attention to how the league office operates? Especially when it comes to the Patriots.

Remember the ******* wasn't suspended for this

OK, any of you watching the pregame on NBC? Dungy, that contemptible skeleton faced liar and Rodney just laid out the penalty that Gronk will get. The league has already made its intentions known through this pregame "opinion" piece. Laughable. Dungy pontificating like HE'S some moral compass...laughable. -The dog and pony show has started...can't wait for the NYC centric media outlets to whip this up into another "gate!".

For Harrison to say "if it was on the street he'd go to jail" is honestly LAUGHABLE. Of all players to say that. If anyone knows a cheap shot it is him.

Lol , every play someone could get paralyzed. Is 1989 your birth year?

Huh, people piling o Rodney? He is just givi g his opinion. And he is the greatest patriots safety of all time.

Gronk will sit, whether the league does it or Bill does it. Bill sat wes welker at the beginning of a PLAYOFF game for making Rex ryan jokes. He's pissed right now at him.

Come on you babies, you can give me more dislikes than that! Gronk did the right thing. If a player wants to constantly hold and pull your jersey all game he deserves to take a Triple H move

Different situation. Different players.

I think if you tackled a guy in the streets you’d be arrested lol.

What he did was wrong and when player safety is involved it's kind of a no brainer how this turns out. Feel for the guy and hope he is ok.

However, if during all all of this, some of these media hacks bring up the egregious referees that keep letting these players use Gronkowski as a jungle gym I'd be all for it. Long shot, but it would be nice. We've been watching the greatest TE in football history not reach his full gametime potential because he is being punished for being too big for Dbs and too fast for LBs to cover. Probably one of the greatest mismatches since Shaquille Oneal and the same treatment.
